Rather than head over to our favorite Mexican restaurant, Luna's, my family and I decided to try Rodrigo's to see what else Corona had to offer in the way of Mexican food. We love our fajitas and so that is what we ordered. My daughter ordered a wet burrito and my 4 year old son chose chicken nuggets.
My husband beef fajita featured a great deal more vegetables than beef, was extremely dry and had no seasoning whatsoever. It tasted as though the meat had not been marinated at all. The bottom of the skillet was completely dry when it brought to me which was a huge red flag. My fajita tasted entirely bland, dry, and the vegetables slightly overcooked. The re-fried beans I was served however were zippy and had a little kick to them, very good.
I ordered the chicken fajita and mimicked my sentiments to a tee. Our children enjoyed their meals but kids are easy to please and have very little to compare their meals to.
With regards to our server, well she was friendly but very slow and we had to repeatedly ask for things before getting them 15 minutes later.
Perhaps the most disappointing and frustrating aspect of our visit was the price. Rodrigo's charges $14.95 for their fajitas and we could have spent 2 dollars more a piece at Luna's to get a 4.5 star meal and dining experience. Our meal concluded with a $60 bill which the quality of food did not justify. There are fewer things more disappointing than to hope for a good meal at a restaurant you've never dined at only to walk away both unsatisfied and have to pay for food whose price does not reflect its quality.
If you want good Mexican food head over to Luna's or even Zendeja's. If you want overpriced average tasting food then by all means...
Read moreI visited Rodrigo's Mexican Grill in Corona (near Norco) and had a great time. We went about 6 pm on a Friday night, and we were seated in the outside patio, which is pretty big, with about 50 other people. The patio has a wood-grill cover, so sun is substantially blocked, and it almost feels like sitting inside the restaurant. There were 6 of us, and they seated us at a larger table that easily accommodated our food. It was very noisy in that patio, and we could barely hear each other, but it was FUN! It was really lively, and very active. It's just great to visit a place like that.
The food came fast, and it was delicious, and, wow, they really served a lot for guys like me who has a huge appetite. The warm chips and tasty salsa kept coming too, all throughout our meal. The drinks we ordered were delicious too.
Honestly, when the server took our orders, I figured he would get them all wrong because it was so noisy, and I'm sure he could barely hear us. I was prepared for that, because it was simply that noisy. We told him it would be 3 separate checks too, and I figured that would cinch it that the checks would be wrong. Two of the checks had a large guacamole bowel on them, and all three had two different drinks on each check. Well, when our meals were over, we got the checks, and they were spot-on perfect!
The meal was a great success and we all had a great time at Rodrigo's Mexican Grill in Corona. They perform at 100% , even during the Covid-19 difficulties. I give them 5 stars for great food, for a great and fun environment on the patio, and for 3 perfectly detailed checks. Big tips...

This is a very well-appointed, traditional Mexican restaurant in a separate building, among stores in a small shopping center. Seating consists of booths along the walls, tables separated by dividers, and stools at the bar. Soft, Spanish-language music is piped in.
The menu is abbreviated but contains all the traditional dishes: Tacos, Enchiladas, Tostados, and Burritos. The cheese is a dark yellow blend and is thicker than most others. The red sauce is also thick and is mildly spiced.
I would like to make special note of the salad (included in the combo plate) because, not only is it generous in size, with a nice combination of ingredients, but the dressing is extraordinary. It is made in-house and contains big chunks of Bleu Cheese. Because so many restaurants nowadays buy their dressings in bulk, with no thought about the delicate blends of flavors and no consideration given to freshness, this salad topper stands out. (Other flavors of salad dressing are also available.)
The waiter for my first visit was very nice, quite attentive, and offered good advice. I like to give my order to the same person who serves my meal, checks in on me, comes back for refills, and offers the check. That did not happen during my second visit, with a variety of staff performing the various functions.
Prices are moderate, so you will pay more here than elsewhere, but I believe the food is worth it.
