I had a terrible frightening experience with this restaurant on Mother’s Day. The owner, an older man yelled in my face and placed his hand in my face telling me to “get out”! Another older woman who I was speaking to did nothing about it. I would hate for anyone else to be treated this way, this is a terrible way to treat customers.
I had placed an order via their online system which was taking orders, I also received a confirmation and the funds were processing in my bank account. A meal for 8 people. When I arrived to the restaurant 45 minutes later they told me they were not taking online orders because they had called DoorDash that morning to not take orders so if I wanted my food I had to wait for them to make it. The older woman showed me her tablet that she had not confirmed my order. I asked her why she didn’t call me to tell me they weren’t going to prepare it, I asked if they could provide the food as soon as possible, they wanted me to order all over again, pay again, and contact DoorDash myself. I told them it wasn’t my mistake, as a customer I did what I was supposed to do. That’s when the owner came from the kitchen and started to scream at me and if that restaurant wasn’t full of people he probably would’ve hit me. I obviously left with no food for my family and no desire to support such a terrible family restaurant. I don’t care how good your food can be you must treat people...
Read moreWe found this delicious place by accident. Highly recommended.
Short story, we were visiting the Mission Inn Christmas lights festival park, and we were looking for a place to have a date dinner night. We found a couple Italian places nearby, however, I was not impressed by the menus, nor prices for the quantity of food.
We start looking for places a bit further and out of the area; we found Rumi's Restaurant. It's absolutely worth the drive.
The food was amazing and absolutely fresh. The flavors were balanced and they complement each other. We got the small hen with bones and it comes with a side of your choice of rice and some chard veggies. We ordered the yellow rice with dates and herbs. The prices were reasonable and were just happy with about everything we ordered. Our server was polite and friendly.
Also, they still do the welcoming butter and bread tradition which I was very happy to see. The bread was warm and yummy.
For drinks we got the mint yogurt drink (Ayran) and it was really tasty.
The atmosphere was quiet. It's family and friends friendly to have celebratory dinner or take your love one for a nice dinner night.
When we visit SoCal again, we absolutely will...
Read moreWe came in and literally waited 1.5 hours for food. We watched people come in after us, order, eat, leave, and then another party at the same table did the same thing. And what's really terrible is the friend we went with was SO excited for us to go there. When they finally gave us our food, it wasn't prepared well, almost as if they were just trying to get it out to give us something, and several of the orders were incorrect... that's AFTER they brought some plates out and then removed them from in front of our salivating friends before they got to touch them (I still don't understand why). We didn't complain and tried to make the best of it, but they never even tried to apologize. Needless to say, none of us will be going back. The experience here made us very sad and disappointed.
Update for the owner that replied
I understand that may be your goal. However, when we came that was not the case and your staff was completely aware. Instead of replying to the comment on here, perhaps you and/or your staff could have tried to apologize or rectify what happened and this review could have been...
