Absolutely incompetent staff. I have been a long time customer of island joes since 2016 at their very first location, and I’ve been a consistent customer every time I come into town. After my recent experience today, I am completely disappointed in the staff and ability to handle drive through orders. At the drive through, I proceeded to try and order two padre paradise smoothies and was informed they were out. I ordered two bluff rats instead, along with two cucumber toasts and three chocolate chip energy bites. I also tried to order a joes jr. smoothie which they were also out of. Once I got to the window, I proceeded to pay 21 dollars for my order. When the girl was reciting my order to the chefs, I realized that they did not charge me for two cucumber toasts (only one, so I thought) so I paid another 9 dollars for the second cucumber toast. After, I was informed they were out of the energy bites and they would refund me for them. According to them, I paid for an entirely different order consisting of one of the smoothies I ordered, one drink I did not order, the three energy bites I ordered, and an avocado toast. However, they did give me half of my correct order (two bluff rats and a cucumber toast) before the wrong order issue was discovered (how this happened completely unsure). Their solution was to refund me for the entire first order and recharge the correct order, excluding the one toast I already paid for. It ended up being 20 cents more than my first payment (excluding the energy bites they were refunding me for). Spent an hour total in the drive through line as there was a complete lack of communication regarding receiving the order, making the order, and refunding the order. I had no problem paying the correct amount for my order, however completely disappointed with the communication regarding inventory and the refund (and making me pay 20 cents more after I sat there for an hour in the drive through). Paying the 20 cents was not a big deal, however the professionalism and competency regarding the entire situation was horrific. So...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Island Joe's Coffee Company in Corpus Christi, and I must say it was an amazing experience. Tucked away in the city, this charming coffee shop proved to be a true gem.
From the moment I walked in, the cozy and inviting atmosphere caught my attention. The staff was warm and friendly, making me feel right at home. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, creating a delightful and comforting ambiance.
Speaking of coffee, Island Joe's offers a delightful array of flavors and blends that cater to every coffee lover's taste. I had the pleasure of trying their Frozen Tidal Wave drink, and it was simply delightful. The perfect balance of rich coffee flavor and icy goodness made it a refreshing treat, especially on a warm day. The skillful blending of flavors showcased the expertise and passion of the baristas.
To accompany my coffee, I decided to try their sausage kolache, and it was a delectable choice. The kolache was freshly baked, with a light and fluffy texture that complemented the savory sausage filling perfectly. Each bite was a burst of flavor, leaving me completely satisfied.
The attention to detail and quality ingredients at Island Joe's Coffee Company are truly commendable. It's evident that they take pride in their craft and strive to deliver exceptional products to their customers.
Beyond the delightful coffee and food, Island Joe's is a place where you can relax, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a quiet moment. The seating options are comfortable, and the laid-back atmosphere encourages you to unwind and savor...
Read moreWe went here on recommendation from online. We should have waited for the recommendations from the locals, although even they mentioned them just not with as much enthusiasm. There is a sign at the end of the line by the register stating some things are worth waiting for. This is not one of them. There was a line out the door, usually a good sign, and the staff was slower than anything. They worked but also chatted among themselves. Apparently, from the conversation they were having, breaking dishes is a common thing they do behind the counter. Their menu has changed since one of the posts we saw and was the main reason we even went. As one of the locals said, "Don't get the plan coffee. It isn't any good." Well it wasn't much better with flavorings, which my wife ordered. I ordered a black tea, iced.. You know what I mean. Iced tea... They didn't. I got earl grey tea because that's the only "black tea" they have. They didn't understand that that is not what you call black tea. Also what I got was bitter and only vaguely even tasted like earl grey. So if that IS what you wanted, you'd still be disappointed. Cleanliness was not kept up there. We had to bus our own table. Parking is a joke. It's a little parking area across the street and down a drive.
So for a rundown. The drinks were off, not so clean, poor parking, slow staff, and you had to wait forever for...
