Schlotzsky's — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

This is the worst Schlotzsky's I've ever been to, and I've been to quite a few. Their sandwiches and service at all other locations have been very good, but this one...ugh.

We we're headed out of Corpus Christi, and I had a hankering for a hot cheese sandwich. This location is convenient to I-37 on the North end of the city, so we stopped here. I should have heeded the reviews.

The girl at the cash register who took our order seemed to be new, because when I ordered a cheese sandwich with extra cheese, she seemed hesitant and confused. She had a pleasant demeanor, though. I told her it was the same thing as an original, but without the meat in it. I told her I wanted everything but onions and meat on it. This is not an unusual order and I've never had a problem at any other Schlotzsky's ordering an original cheese sandwich. She rang it up with a soda and a kid's pizza meal for my granddaughter. They gave us a number to put on our table and we sat down.

We weren't sitting long when they brought our order out. That was good. My sandwich was an original with meat and hardly any cheese at all. No bueno. I immediately pointed this out to the woman who served us. She kind of hesitated, so I explained again that I requested no meat and had to tell her to take it back. She took it, but came back with a young guy who was either the manager or the cook. I had to explain it again to him that I wanted an original cheese with extra cheese minus onions. The young woman said they'll redo it and not charge me "this time" and walked of again with my sandwich. She was pretty frosty about it, as if I had deliberately ordered it wrong. Certainly no apology. Wow.

In spite of the stupid dance, the sandwich was delicious. The bread was nice and spongy, not too hard on the edges. My granddaughter enjoyed her pizza, and my son liked his ginormous sandwich. The restaurant was pretty clean, so no complaints there.

The bottom line is that we will likely not be back here again, because I really felt awkward about the whole thing. If you've never had Schlotzsky's before, please don't let a negative experience at this particular location put you off. This place is not typical of all the other Schlotzsky's...

This place is a JOKE! I never write negative reviews, only positive ones. I order my California Flatbread with no avocado or cilantro & easy on the sauce. The first time I ordered that, it was covered in cilantro & literally looked like the bottle of sauce exploded on my flatbread. It has just got worse from there. Got an empty box! No flatbread at all. Got only half a flatbread & when they remade it...once again, the jar of sauce vomited on my flatbread. I have received horrible customer service each & every time! Waiting at the window for 10 - 15 min with cashier MIA. Wondering if I was forgotten. Multiple times. I have been given the wrong soup with my grilled cheese, about a tbsp of soup, once & another empty container once. Everyone there acts like they want to put a gun in their mouth. Very pleasant. I have never in my life experienced this many mistakes & horrible customer service in any establishment. ESPECIALLY a Schlotzsky's. The last two I was used to, back in Longview & Tyler were exceptional & I never had mistakes...never. Not using that word lightly. I am writing a yelp review after this & calling corporate first thing Monday morning. This is ridiculous. I am also displeased that I have no choice but to give this place a star...

I have never eaten here or any other Schlotzky's but I will never eaten there again. I also would never recommend it to my friends and family. We went through the drive thru which you would think would be faster but NO. It took about 20 minutes in the drive thru from time of order to time of receiving order. The order taker was sooo stupid she argued with me about what came on the sandwich. You would think since she worked there she would know but she really didn't. After repeating my order 4 times, she finally told me to just drive around. When I got to the window I repeated my order but said it didn't come that way. I then showed her the online menu which shows exactly what comes on the sandwich and she was like "oh ok didn't know that". Well she didn't correct my order so my sandwich was wrong but I didn't know until I got back to my hotel room. By that time I wasn't willing to go back and try again so I was forced to eat most of it. Overall horrible experience, horrible food, and very high price for...
