Definitely the best carne guisada in town, and the other breakfast tacos are delicious, too. I'm a sausage and egg kinda guy, and they do that well, too. I just wish this was one of the places where grandma was behind the counter making the corn and flour tortillas from scratch, keeping an eye on everything, but those older style taquerias are few and far between these days. I'd probably actually have a real heart attack if suddenly Elva's appeared from back when I was at Ray High School... First time here today, placed my order outside with my kids and was told by the older shorter lady she would bring our food out to us as a Convenience which was better for my kids and I. So we’re waiting and I see all these people stopping by getting there food and leaving and sure enough 20-30 minutes go by and I get down to ask her if my order is almost ready that I been waiting that long and she gives me a look like I was lying and sure enough she goes inside and it was just sitting there ready. My tacos weren’t even hot anymore they where somewhat warm and my enchilada plate was warm. THERE WERE ROACHES. I just want to make sure that caught everyone's attention. We sat at a table by a wall and I saw two roaches crawling up within five minutes of each other. Out of my own admitted stupidity, I didn't leave or make a big deal out of it. I was on a business trip and on my way out of town and hadn't eaten since early morning. I was starving. Now I regret not walking out of there. I ate there today, 08/16/23, at 1PM. It is now 6PM and my stomach is in shambles. The food was not even worth it, it was as bland as it gets.
