This place was not what I thought when looking on the outside in a strip mall. It took this strip mall area and made it feel like a bright calm place to have supper. It was not a dressy up place. Come as you are, shorts and shirts were fine. The waiter wore a shirt from the restaurant and nice pants. His name was Derek. Great service!! He was triple sat and ran the tables as if we were the only table he had. He was busting his booty! We lacked for NOTHING!! We started with bacon wrapped shrimp. 4 were included in the order. The jalapeño was a nice spice, but didnt kick, they took the seeds out! I has the 4 chicken breast meal. The mashed potatoes were creamy and tasted super fresh. A couple of lungs so you knew it was fresh not boxed! Loved that! The chicken was nice and crispy, juicy and the 4 cheese topping was just salty enough I didnt need to add any salt to the plate. The star was the lemon ber blanc (sorry if misspelled) it was so yummy and crispy!! The serving was so much I had enough to take home for tomorrow at lunch! Hubby had fried shrimp. With rice pilaf and veggies. The shrimp were so big, like half dollar size! Approx 6 shrimp filled him up! They were moist and juicy and very tasty. We absolute have no problems coming back here. We did not get drinks from the bar, but it appeared to be a very busy bar and the bar tender was making drinks the whole time we were there. We will be back in fro. San Antonio again!

Believe our host told us this is a "Father-Son" team and man they can put some fantastic meals together. Very nicely done! Visited in Aug 2020. This place is clean, has easy access and the service is top notch. Could tell this is a hopping place during normal times. During our dine in visit with social distancing a must, The Blue Cove Seafood Bar and Grill was absolutely doing their part to be safe. The atmosphere is friendly and accommodating. We had two fantastic dishes and a couple of $5 Margaritas. Crab Stuffed Flounder - Special Feature (whole Flounder Stuffed with our signature crab mix topped with lemon butter and served with rice and veggies - $35) & Drum Florentine - Chef's Special (black Drum, stuffed with fresh crabmeat, and spinach mix, topped with our lemon butter sauce - $25). Both dishes were an absolute “10” with the Drum Florentine edging out the Flounder by a bit. This place is a definite do-over.

My first time eating here and it was a big disappointment. My Caesar salad was soaked in dressing couldn’t even eat or enjoy my salad. They only serve Instant Coffee which is unbelievable! My dad and brothers enjoyed the Oysters. The crab balls should become crab cakes. They still needed cooking no one cared for the crab balls. The ceviche was okay. My sweet tea was good. The fish tacos and the shrimp platter were good. My pecan snapper was dry and disappointing I didn’t care for the tangy white sauce served over a hard avocado slices. My sister enjoyed her Salmon except for the olives that came with her dish. Our server was amazing, sweet and friendly. Overall, I’m glad my family enjoyed The Blue Clove, however, I personally will not be coming back. Do note this is my personal opinion. I have no doubt this place is a favourite to many locals. I’ve yet to find a good fish restaurant.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Blue Clove, and I can confidently say this place is a true gem! What made our visit even more memorable was the outstanding service provided by David. David is the epitome of 5-star service—he’s not just a server but someone who truly embodies the spirit of the restaurant. Welcomed by the owners like family, David’s passion for The Blue Clove is evident in every interaction, making it feel like he’s running his own business. His recommendations for both the appetizer and the entrée were spot on. Great job, David!

We’re already planning our next trip to Corpus, and dining at The Blue Clove will definitely be on our itinerary. Compliments to the chefs and the owners for creating such a fantastic dining experience. If you love seafood, you absolutely have to try their Crab Cake Balls—an appetizer that’s worth every bite. While I used to consider Skuttlebutt’s a top choice, The Blue Clove has completely raised the bar.

After spending time at Whitecap Beach, my family was craving something local and fresh, and The Blue Clove delivered in every way. The food here is hands down the best in Corpus Christi, and the prices are excellent for the quality you receive. We also tried the Snapper Fish Tacos, which were simply scrumptious. The spicy slaw that accompanies them is just the right amount of kick to wake up your taste buds.

The Blue Clove is a must-visit, whether for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is spotless, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the restrooms are well-maintained. I’ll definitely be spreading the word about this incredible dining experience. Next time, I’ll make sure to capture some photos to share in my review.

Fantastic job,...

One of my few, rare, five star reviews! Granted, the price was a bit on the higher end!! However, the service, the freshness, the flavor, the spices used, and the creativity of the meal, I... I literally can say flawless across the board!! Special shout out to Gabe!! You sir, are not only an amazing Waiter, but a creative genius in terms of the Margarita you created!! Gabe made the most amazing margarita I’ve ever had in my life! It shall be deemed THE famous cucumber, jalapeño margarita!! It is a MUST TRY!!

Also on the first time experiences of the meal. Was my introduction to Drum fish! Okay... okay... I’ve never heard of it, let alone had it before to eat! And upon the recommendation of the aforementioned Gabe, the crab drum fish, was presented to the table. IT! WAS! AMAZING!! Delicious, I have since scoured the local area of Houston, looking for an establishment that serves this delectable fish! As of yet, I have found none! This has me feening, for a return trip to Corpus Christi!! I also partook in their gumbo, and their bread pudding and my goodness!! If seafood or just delicious food is your forte, THIS IS A MUST VISIT ESTABLISHMENT! I say again! MUST VISIT! As I stated. This is one of my rare 5 star reviews. And in this experience. The price was not extravagant but pricier then local dining. So it wasn’t cheap. But the other focal points were met with such pristine and delicious successfulness, that I would be unjust and dare I say foolish to not click these stars 1-5!! All of them! They’ve earned all Of them! Gabe, again thank you for the recommendations and the...

Great place for weekday lunch with good parking and great service. The last time I visited this restaurant they were still located on the other side of town. I was excited to order my old favorite. The soft shell crab sandwich. Unfortunately they changed the bread to something more plain. It used to be made with an anise rye bread. That was half it charm and what made it so interesting so I was disappointed to learn it was changed. I had lunch here with my sister. The waiter brought out a bread basket of rosemary rolls. The bread was dry and the butter had that flavor as if it were left uncovered in the refrigerator for a long period of time. My ordered the chicken fried chicken. That came with gravy, mashed potatoes and veggies. The crust had the old oil flavor. That greasy taste fried food gets when the frying oil has been used for too long and not changed out. The gravy and mashed potatoes were amazing! Covered the oil flavor for the most part. Best white gravy I've ever had at restaurant. I had the lemon pesto salmon. I prefer a traditional basil pesto, this one was more herbaceous but delicious. The salmon was ok. And the veggies are great, could use a bit more seasoning though. We shared the potato crabmeat bisque. It was good but nothing special. It wasn't creamy like a bisque should be. I also had the ginger pear margarita. I'll be back for more of those. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Overall, I'll go back and try...
