I, actually, give zero stars. One is too generous. On our way too Dallas, my cousin told my two daughters and I that we were going to stop at the bakery on our way back to home. She praised how good the baked goods are and how she loves such and such, on and on. I'm not one for baked goods, but I wanted satisfy her whim, so I agreed. On the way back to Houston, we stopped at the bakery. The place was clean and pleasing to the eye. I liked the music, too. BUT a red flag for me was the moment we walked in. I felt very unwelcome. There were four young workers standing behind the counter and no one said anything to us, even after I said hello. At the end of the counter, near the fountain drink machine, two older ladies were talking. I passed them and no one said anything. I didn't think much of them because I needed to go to the restroom. I will say it was clean, too. Afterward, I headed for the drinks and noticed that you had to pay for your cup first to get your drink. Not sure what that’s about, but I’ll play along. The lady at the register stared me down as if she was the cup warden. I asked her if I had to pay for the cup first and she looked at me sternly, nodded her head and said yes. This was red flag number two with the attitude. I picked out some baked goods and was eager to have privilege to get my drink now. She asked me what size I wanted. I said medium. She told me it was only small and large. I wanted to laugh because she didn’t mention there were only two sizes, but I picked my size and was honored with it. My daughter wanted a drink and she asked her what size. My daughter told her she wanted medium. She sternly said it's either regular or large. I swear if eyes could kill, we would be dead right there on the spot. My daughter got her cup. We paid and moved on. I placed a $1 in the tip box, which I did for the young workers for effort. Definitely, not for her. As we left, my daughter said thank you to the works standing behind the counter. No one spoke. She yelled out to them to have a blessed day. I told her not to waste her time and energy by being angry at them. I was so glad to get out of that place. My cousin and my other daughter left out before us because my daughter was upset behind the cashier’s attitude toward us. So, the entire customer service experience to that bakery was horrendous. I don't want to use the racist card, but that's the vibe I felt from Carmen. Despite that interaction, I still kept my smile on my face because she was not going to win by stealing my joy. I will never go back to this bakery, nor will I ever recommend it to a living soul. Collin's management needs to research where Russell Stover store and factory, which is behind them, sends their workers for Customer Service 101. It was like night and day at Russell Stover. I, reluctantly, tried one of the cookies, which wasn’t bad. Although, I think it wasn’t worth the price. P.S. I called the 1-800 on the website to speak to management about my experience, but I have yet to receive...

My review pertains to their mail order business. On my my mother's side, I'm from one of the first Anglo families to settle in Texas. Ordering fruitcakes from Collin Street Bakery has been one of our Christmas traditions for multiple generations. I have no complaints about the quality of their fruutcakes which are still delicious to most people including those who generally don't like fruitcakes. My complaint is solely in regard to the current exorbitant price. I am now 75 years old and ordered fruitcakes as gifts and for myself for many years as did my mother, grandmother and other family members before me. It has been too long for me to remember the exact price, but it seems like the price of a regular deluxe fruitcake was approximately $8.00 the first time I ordered some. For many years the price was less than $10.00. Gradually the price increased from there. Then it began to skyrocket. By Christmas 2022 the price was so extremely high that I almost did not order any fruitcakes at all. But I begrudgingly ordered one fruitcake only for a cousin and none for myself. Then when I received the order forms for Christmas 2023 and saw that one regular deluxe fruitcake was now priced at $36.45 I simply could not bring myself to pay such a ridiculous price for a relatively small cake even if it was so nicely packaged in a tin. It's not that I don't have the money. I would rather give it to a charity at Christmas than pay so much more than a product is worth. I realize that like everything the cost of labor and ingredients have increased, but they have not increased so much to justify such an exorbitant price. I can only consider such prices as price-gouging. I urge everyone to boycott Collin Street Bakery until they reduce their absurd prices to the realm of reason. Congratulations, Collin Street Bakery. You finally jacked up your prices so high that you lost one of your most loyal customers. I doubt that I am the only longtime...

Disappointed this year in the service. Last year we bought about 3 dozen gingerbread cookies from the same location and was charged $2.75 per cookie. We love their gingerbread and let the kids decorate them in our group. This year, we were saddended to find out that the store policy had changed that regardless of decorated or undecorated per the store manager, the cookies were 3.50. We order in advanced to make sure they have enough. Just sad that they changed policy even though we are returning customers for a couple years not only to this location but to the other one down the street since last year they ran out of the gingerbread that we had ordered. We paid because he did order the cookies. We also ordered lunch. Their sandwiches are over priced but used to that there, but would have enjoyed if the turkey was fresh and the cantalope was not ripe. In all, the customer service was not what we are used to I'm probably will have to find another place where the gingerbread is as good as the Collin Street Bakery but I'm sure there are other places that are. It's a shame that they altered their prices in would not honor what they did last year for us but things happen. The manager needs to realize not to be so rude and not socialize with her family while there's customers in the store. Still giving two stars because the gingerbread is...
