Corsicana Steakhouse — Restaurant in Corsicana

First the good. The building is really cool! Great atmosphere. Now the bad. Showed up at 5:30pm on a Thursday. Was greeted by a guy whom immediately said he was a furniture mover filling in. He absolutely did his best! The waiter was brand new but working on his own. He had NO CLUE what he was doing. Couldn’t even tell us what drinks they had (no drink menu). Thursday is Prime Rib day. We were early, but told they were already out. Really?! Ok, switch gears. Ordered the fried mac and cheese appetizer…. Oh wait, we’re out of that as well. WOW! So we just got mozzarella sticks and shared a 14oz ribeye. The mozzarella sticks were terrible as was the steak. I’ve seen paper thicker than the steak was! Not even 1/4” thick. Couldn’t tell you if it tasted good due to all the salt. My blood pressure doubled after the first bite. Our waiter wasn’t seen after he took our order. Someone different brought our food. Nobody checked on us. Drinks were empty the entire time. We finished our food and sat there looking around for 30 minutes. NOBODY came by! We were tempted to just walk out. Finally, out waiter came back and asked if everything looked alright… with our plates and drinks empty! Paid our bill without tip and walked out. We will NEVER return and will tell everyone we know to avoid the place like the plague. We definitely should not have paid a cent for that...

Perhaps it was an off night? The reviews I read were all very high praise. The location and environment was nice and quiet. There was no music and dim lighting, my wife and I were one of 3 occupied tables (Saturday night). They were out of the first 2 items I wanted, on a small menu this is a warning. I ended up with the Kebabs, not great. My wife's salad had 5 tomato pieces, 2 wear over ripe. My kabab was anemic in appearance, bland, and also had bad tomatoes. We ran completely out of drinks for the larger portion of the meal. My wife did enjoy her chicken fried steak, small as it was for the price. This place has great potential, but we will not be back. I was really looking forward to a local hidden gem. It appears that I will be visiting chain restaurants...

Had lunch there on a Sunday over the holidays. Had a reservation for 3-person party. Stood in lobby(?) 10 mins and no one came to seat us. Finally we walked around until we found someone that worked there. He said he’d be right with us but we found our reserved table and sat down ourselves. The food - no baked potatoes and the mashed potatoes and fries servings were the size of a small ice cream scoop. Steaks were ordered medium rare and medium. Steaks arrived RARE!
