Visiting K and K Barbecue in Corsicana feels like a dive into the heart of Texas barbecue culture, wrapped in the warmth of a family-owned establishment. From the moment you step inside, there's an undeniable sense of being in a place where every dish is crafted with care and tradition. The aroma of smoked meats fills the air, setting the stage for a culinary experience that promises to be memorable.
The highlight of the visit, without a doubt, is the food. The ribs truly live up to the reputation of falling off the bone, tender and infused with a deep, smoky flavor that only hours in a smoker can achieve. They're served with the sauce on the side, a bold move that speaks volumes about the confidence in the quality of the meat. It’s a statement that says, “Try it first without the sauce; you might find you don’t need it.” And they’re right. The meat stands tall on its own, flavorful and moist, a testament to the skill behind the grill.
The chicken is another standout, perfectly cooked to be juicy and flavorful, effortlessly pulling away from the bone. It’s a balancing act of smoke and seasoning, executed with precision. The sides deserve their own mention, from the creamy mac and cheese to the tangy and refreshing coleslaw, each dish complements the barbecue beautifully, adding layers of flavor and texture to the meal.
But what makes K and K Barbecue more than just a place to eat is the atmosphere. The staff greets you like an old friend, whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, creating an environment that’s both welcoming and genuinely cozy. It's the kind of place where you can strike up a conversation with anyone, united by the shared experience of enjoying some of the best barbecue around.
Leaving K and K Barbecue, you carry with you not just the satisfaction of a meal well enjoyed but the warmth of hospitality that’s becoming all too rare. It’s a reminder of what makes small, family-run businesses special, offering not just food, but an experience that resonates long after...
Read moreI dream K&K!
From my Kentucky properties I daydream about my revisit to K&K and the beautiful people & family that manage the place! There is truly ONLY one K&K (even Google -ed it on here and it came right up), and although they said I had a lil bit too much country-twang in my voice in my visit...I STILL love them and the food they serve.
If you go, try the... TRY EVERYTHING, YOU WILL NOT BE DISPLEASED, AND ALTHOUGH IT MAY SET YOU A DECENT PENNY BACK TO TASTE- TEST THE ENTIRETY ON OF THE MENU, YOU'LL BE SORRY TO LEAVE THE AREA WITHOUT PLEASING YOUR EPICOURIAL NEEDS!
I'm partial to the fried catfish, ribs, local- smoked sausage, pulled pork sandwich, and sides. All in that order! The catfish is rolled in some of the most flavorful breading, the ribs beat out KC- RIBS anyday of the week, and the local smoked sausages man their's a learned abattoir in the vicinity that's just as good in their trade of meat- processing as K&K is in 'smoking!
Don't leave the area (with getting off the freeway) without a stop at K&K
By the way, a one of the ladies to find you a banana pudding in town and too, you'll want to set up residency in...
Read moreConvenient on street parking, close to main roads, well done old building, super clean restaurant and restrooms. Exceptional service by all staff who immediately made us feel welcome. Our first time there so we asked for a recommendation. The young man waiting on us said the loaded baked potato was popular so I ordered that. My husband ordered the sausage sandwich with fries and Mac n cheese. Food was brought out in a very reasonable time. And everything was great! I never saw a potato that big before. It was perfectly baked and the pickled sliced jalapeños on the side were a perfect touch to the bbq sauce, brisket and cheese. The sausage had great flavor and nice to have a good portion of meat on the sandwich. Also got a free sample of the other sausage they have. Also excellent but the regular sausage is special and few restaurants can match there’s. They do have some sweet looking cakes available for dessert but we were too stuffed to have any. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re heading...
