The Palace Theatre — Attraction in Corsicana

Although I've never been here, I feel this theatre would highly benefit from having a theatre organ inside to use for silent films and regular performances! I am connected with a non profit group in McGregor called the Texas Museum of Theatre & Broadcast where there's theatre organs displayed in the front window of the building on 3rd& Main St. They also own the Texas theatre across the street that was built in 1912 with future restoration plans. They just put a digitized Robert Morton theatre organ into the Palace Theatre in Marlin and will feature a live theatre organ performance to Phantom of the Opera Oct 29th at 6pm. Love the look of old time theatres! This one was recently restored and the beautifully placed Christmas decorations were perfect!

The front office is very welcoming and accommodating. We went in the afternoon to purchase tickets. It was pretty packed, but they found good seats from when a season ticket holder at the last minute turned in his two tickets. While waiting for the purchase to go through, I kinda peeked into the theatre. A teenager at the concession counter saw me and said her mother did the decorations. She found her mother, who proudly showed me all the Christmas lights and tree placements. Just lovely!

We loved The Palace! We went to see Gene Watson last night and it was an incredible show!! I have been there before to see The Bellamy Brothers and loved the venue so much. I have been on the lookout to see if someone else I love would be performing there, and I feel like I hit the jackpot by seeing Gene Watson there. I also bought tickets to see the Bellamy Brothers again next month. I hope Gene Watson performs there again! I would rather see a live performance there than at a dance hall.
