Cotton Patch Cafe — Restaurant in Corsicana

I had a terrible experience here 8 years ago and had not gone back since. Today. I decided to give them one more shot. I saw on their website that you can sign up for the club and get a free appetizer and so I did. It then said to wait 24 hours to get it. So whatever, that was a bust. Then I saw they had the $9.99 "value meals" so I said what the heck, lets try it. We get there only to feel like a bait and switch because it is like a daily special and you can only get one kind per day. Saturday is a platter of sides? What? So strike two. Then there were the dirty plates. We got an appetizer plate with dried food stuck all over it and the waitress never came back so we were sharing the clean plates between us all. Like, come on. We ordered our full price appetizer and drinks and the waitress didn't write it down and when she repeated it back to me she kept saying the wrong drink. I knew where this was going. So of course she brought me the wrong drink. Shocker. Again, I'm still TRYING to be optimistic here. Then the flies began to descend. Crawling on us while we ate our appetizer. We quickly ran out of room on the table so I stacked all the plates and trash and put it on the edge of the table to make it easy to pick it up. But, no one ever stopped to pick it up even when our food arrived and we had nowhere for anything. I had things stacked and tipping so I just asked for boxes at this point. I had to hold those in my lap because even with everything clearly not fitting on the table, no one picked up the extra plates or the bread basket or the empty cups. I made it SO EASY. So all in all, we had poor service, flies, dirty dishes, bait and switch pricing, bait and switch "free appetizer" and I spent $95 on crap food that no one even wanted to eat. When we first arrived the hostess on duty seated us, we told her this is our first time here, whats good, She just grinned and said your waitress will be right with you. I said, hey, were just passing thru, we really have never been here before, what is really delicious. She grinned and said, I dont know Ive never eaten here either! Ask your waitress, she will be with you shortly. As she left she picked up my husbands phone. He noticed and we searched he went out to the truck to see if he left it there, while I called it 3 times, she never answered it, but proceeded to take it to the manager on duty, we hailed her as she was walking by she never heard us or payed attention, so we followed her toward the mgr on duty. Gary a friend that was with us stepped up with his hand out, that belongs to us, she continued to hand first to mgr and he handed it to Gary. No oops, sorry nothing,

Had to ask for refill on soda, my husbands steak was to be WELL done, came out med, sent it back, they had him move his potato to a small plate and said ill microvave it be right back, when he received it the 2nd time it was still pink, he gave up! I told him send it back, nope, Im done . Paid our bill of 63. And some change, gave her 64. And left.

I think alot of it is lack of training We didnt see no horsing around, but sence of urgency was slow, and how to handle a problem. There was no tempers flairing as I work in public also, she was probably a lil embarrassed about taking phone, but she shpuld have acknowledged it when she knew where it came from, The waitress got our initial drink and appetizer, but never seen her again. We had Take-Out Home Delivery a few nights ago.

This review is based on that and Not of sit-down inside.

The undertrained person in charge of home delivery has NO concept of what it takes to eat the food we were delivered.

We ordered 2 6oz Sirloins cooked Medium Rare, 2 baked potato’s. fried okra and mushrooms,

The steaks were Horrible, ask for Medium Rare and got a very tough,no flavor Well Done steak that was Totally cold.

Baked potatoes were so cold they would not melt the butter.

Okra totally Cold.

The mushroom’s were flavorless and we were hoping to dump the juice on the steaks. NO juice at all.

We could not reheat the steaks because already way overcooked heating would have been wrong.

If that was not horrible enough they hired a lady with a bad car with 2 Kids inside. When she got in front of house she made both kids get out and stand on sidewalk so we could see them when we opened the front door. She had to fuss at one kid because she did not want to get out of car. To us this display was totally designed to get a bigger Tip. Never had this tactic ever happen before.

We have never had a delivery to our house we’re an attempt to keep hot was not used.

In closing Cotton Patch Corsicana may be an option for someone eating inside the restaurant.

You should NEVER EVER consider them for takeout home delivery because you could end up spending $50 for food and basically throwing it all away.
