I've been enjoying the food at OMI since th 80s. It is always delicious. I have moved away, but since my daughter had her son at Navarro Regional, I decided to have an early dinner there. It was around 3:30, and it wasn't crowded at all. I ordered the Deluxe, which is served with an appetizer of a taco, small queso, a tostada with guacamole. The entree is an enchilada, a tamale, rice, and beans. I asked for the entree to be to-go. It took over an hour for them to bring the taco dish. When they finally brought the to go portion, I was shocked at the small portion. There was maybe a 1/4 cup of rice and beans, and I had to search for the enchilada. I asked the server if this was a typical portion, and she said no and took the plate back to the kitchen. Two hours later, I went to pay my bill, and the manager said she noticed how long I had to wait and took the Deluxe off my ticket. I had ordered my daughter the tortilla soup to go. Unfortunately, she got tired of waiting and went ahead and ate the hospital food. The food was delicious as always, but let's hope they work on the service and kitchen logistics.

Corsicana seems to be blessed with some very good locally owned Mexican Restaurants. Came because I recall eating here some 20 years ago and the orange sauce caught my attention. I suspect I have learned a lot about cooking since then. Seems like an aioli sauce with garlic some smoked paprika and a pinch of chipotle chili powder. Could be some adobo sauce and mayo. They were a little busy but service seemed a little slow. The refried beans looked like they spent too much time under the heat lamp. I stirred them a little before taking the picture. The food was tasty. Wife said the cream sauce on here sour cream enchiladas did not taste quite like sour cream. I told her it was more authentic and likely Mexican style Crema. I tasted it and it was good. When we get back to Corsicana I would like to to La Pradera Mexican. Food is as good or better Plus the dining room is bright and open.

We have eaten here a few times now, meeting family from Dallas and we're from Houston. The food is always delightful; the atmosphere inside is fun; and the service is great! Even if you ask for a menu item to be altered a little bit, they always accommodate you and take care of your wants/needs. The special house red sauce with chips is amazing! I like the combo meals, like enchiladas with tacos, and the food always comes out hot and fresh. The refried beans are so yummy. We've come in there with a party of 5 and didny have to wait long at all to be seated and served. They serve you a real glass bottle of Dr. Pepper. Family-owned business that has been around since the 40s, so it has its historical value in the Corsicana community.

We've been here twice.. the most recent was Thursday, 1 Aug and it is what triggered me to write a review. We've been seated both times immediately outside of the bathroom.... that's never pleasant. A part of what makes the searing so unpleasant is that the area is so cramped with all of the foot traffic and the servers were challenged with simply standing at their tables - nevermind trying to use a stand to help with plate distribution once the food arrives.

I'll say the service was just okay.. I'm very torn with saying that because our server was super sweet, but it took longer than it should have for us to receive drinks and place our orders... also, it's a bit frustrating when the food arrives, but two individuals at the table don't receive their food for nearly ten minutes after the rest of the table. It's hard to say if it was our server's oversight or the kitchens... also, our second round of drinks were so delayed that my frozen margarita wasn't all that 'frozen' by the time it arrived.

I will share that everyone really enjoyed their food, but my chicken was overcooked and dry.. The rice was rather mushy and was very nearly resembling a paste... I sampled others' and I agree that theirs were much better than mine.. the pieces of beef and shrimp that I sampled were also super flavorful. I will not order the Ranchero Chicken again.

The biggest issue was the temperature in the restaurant. I cannot recall the last time I was so uncomfortable eating a meal that I was paying for... it's August in Texas and I would have preferred to sit outside. The two of us that sat against the wall in our cramped booth must have been sitting on a shared wall with the oven on the other side because the wall was heated. So, between the temperature in the building and the heated wall, it was awful. I, literally, had sweat running down my back and the hair at my neck was damp when we left. We did ask about the temperature and we were met with an understanding smile and nod, along with a recommendation to sit on the other side of the restaurant... with that, we weren't able to determine if the AC was not functioning properly or if that's just how their system is.. regardless, it was enough to overshadow the food and the service - that were both 'just okay'.

All that said, we will try them once more, but only if someone else suggests them - and not until the temps...

My husband and I decided to try there for the first time yesterday and we will NOT be going back.. we arrived there a little before 3:00 p.m. and decided we would try their noonday specials which says clearly on the menu--served till 3:00 p.m. includes either iced tea or coffee.. if you happen to order after 3:00 p.m. then you have to pay an extra dollar per meal and the tea or coffee is not free... We did talk to our waitress and place our order and that was right before 3:00 p.m. however by the time she got it in their computer system it was after 3:00 p.m. we did not know that until we got our ticket at the end and we were charged for two teas as well as an extra dollar a meal.. the waitress however said it was her fault for putting it in a little bit late so the manager took the two teas off, but we still paid the extra penalty of another dollar a meal, so I would just say if you're going there to eat do not order off that menu or you need to be there way ahead of time or the waitress will charge you extra. also the salsa there is extremely too hot they give you something that's kind of like mayonnaise that you can mix with the salsa the chips by itself would just that mayonnaise mix was delicious but the salsa was definitely too spicy... The portion we got on the noonday special was not very big either and for almost $10 a plate I expected to have a bigger portion however the tortilla chips were...

We had a funeral to attend. There was 21 of us in our group. We are from the Dallas area and have a Cemetary in silver city where our family for at least 4 generations is buried. Being that the graveside service was not starting until 2 we would stop for lunch since it was just 12:30 and the Cemetary is just 15 minutes down the road. We didn't get asked about drinks until 12:50 and got them 10 minutes later. Waitress was in a bad mood and was showing her impatience when asked about how much time it would take for certain entrees. We ended up leaving because it was taking too much time and she didn't want to give any answers and was irritable. We paid for all our drinks and told her we would be returning plus gave her a tip for bringing the drinks. After leaving the cemetary we made our way back to this restaurant only to be told that they couldn't seat us together. We would have to be seated separately. This was at 3 something and there was less customers than when we originally got there. There were 3 waitresses sitting at the front along with the waitress that served us. We went elsewhere. Wish Don Jose's was still open there. We never had any...
