Came in last week for the first time. Was really looking forward to eating here since it is walking distance. I’ll admit we came during dinner hour and they may have been busy with deliveries but the inside was not busy. I counted at least 6 employees. Our interaction with the cashier made us feel rushed in making a decision of whether we wanted to sit at the bar or in the pizza parlor. I wanted to check out the bar prior to making the decision but ended up choosing the pizza parlor since I was put on the spot (wished I would’ve chosen the bar since it was lively and they had a better beer selection). When our order came up I heard my name called. It appeared they wanted me to get up and pickup the pizza instead of having it served, this isn’t cheap pizza I expect a little bit of service. I met the person halfway and carried the pizza back to the table. The pizza was served on a flat piece of cardboard which made for a mess since the card board didn’t have an edge to catch the crumbs the way a traditional pizza on a metal tray would have. Also had to grab my own plates and napkins. The pizza was the highlight and was tasty. When we went to get a pizza box for leftovers we were charged 75 cents for a box. Not sure if this is to encourage customers to bring their own takeout container but it was the first time I had to pay for a box. TLDR food is good...
Read moreI have been eating Woodstock's Pizza since my friend and roommate worked there the first time I went to OSU in the early 90s. The pizza is really good and there is a perfect amount of garlic involved which is so important on a pizza. You can get a small, individual sized pizza anytime for under $10 if you are conservative on toppings. They toss the dough and prepare the pizzas right next to the order counter and you can view the toppings. My favorite pizza topping at home is diced hard-boiled egg and I always look for it but it's not there. I haven't tried asking. Every place I've ever asked has always said no, and it's so good with pepperoni and mushrooms.
They have Dig-Dug the original arcade game, and I used to play that game as a kid. It's 2 quarters now, but it's worth it. It goes fast if you have never played. It's a simple game, but the bad guys move fast, and Fygar the dragon blows flames that are not always predictable. Dig Dug reminds me of a similar game called Pengo back then where you squished bad guys with ice blocks... that one was really good too. I would give Woodstocks Pizza 5 stars for the atmosphere if they had more video games.
Delivery is excellent as well, but I usually go pick it up. When it's been delivered, it is fresh and hot and the workers are...
Read moreVery rude and aggressive service before I even made it to the counter. The employee just told me I "look confused or something" and didn't even let me look at the menu. Very impatient although no one was in line behind us. Ordered 3 pizzas. One was burnt. You have to pay for a takeout box, which is odd, but they provide foil to wrap it in instead. Not great, but okay.
Not a single food worker in the establishment wore gloves, hairnets, etc. Dusty, unsanitary. Some inappropriate graffiti on the benches. We waited about a half hour. The people ahead of us waited even longer. I counted at least 6 employees preparing food and I just couldn't believe not a single glove in sight, just preparing everything with bare hands. Found a hair in mine. They cut the pizza while it was still so hot the cheese just fused back together so when you tried to take a slice, all the cheese and toppings would slide off the crust. It was.. Not fantastic.
If I could, I would rate a 0/5, but 1 is the least they allow. On the plus side, they do have gluten free, but I do not recommend this place. Overpriced, unsanitary work practices, and at least one very...
