Gremlin Garage — Restaurant in Costa Mesa

A cozy coffee shop that has a motorcycle theme to it. Displayed at the back wall is a custom cafe style bike with the company logo in hot neon green sign. The bike has a very clean design with the blacked out look and looks like it would be fun to ride. I loved the selection of merch they had from helmets, t-shirts, biker jackets and coffee gear.

The staff of two had their hands full as small waves of lines kept coming in, but they kept that line moving smoothly, keeping up with the demand. They were friendly and welcoming, loved the chat about the love for riding motorcycles.

I ordered the Burnt Honey Latte and it tasted great with the flavors of espresso, guittard chocolate, pistachio and orange.

HORRIBLE first impression!! Worker/Owner pulled in a silver Ram 3500 ProMaster Van and told me to move my car (mind you, I was already parked) so she can park her work van there sideways, taking up 3 spaces and said those spaces were for her!! I was early to get my car serviced next door, so I was just finishing up a slice of pizza and was about to get off to try a cold foam drink from Gremlins Garage. I don’t know if she thought I was just sitting there, but didn’t even bother to ask if I was a client, straight up told me to get out of that parking spot so she can put her van there and said “those are our parking spots.” Just a horrible experience, out of embarrassment I just moved to avoid any altercation she may of tried to provoke. HORRIBLE way to treat someone, especially when there’s was no need for you to take up 3 parking spots, forcing a customer to literally leave...

Loved this place! Cute and uniquely themed. The staff were all very friendly and nice to talk to while we made our order. We got the burnt honey latte and mango tamarind tonic. The burnt honey latte was SO GOOD! I’m not usually one for a flavored latte but this was so well done. Did I know what burnt honey tasted like before I tried this? No. But from my first sip, I could taste that burnt honey with the perfect blend of cinnamon. I will be thinking about this latte daily. The mango tamarind tonic was unique and refreshing. They have a yuzu tonic that I’d love to try next time. We came on a Saturday afternoon and there was limited parking, but we luckily found some street parking nearby.
