Daiso - Japanese Household Goods — Local services in Costa Mesa

A smaller Daiso like the one in Huntington Beach, not like the larger Torrance or Irvine shops. Good selection of household niknacks from frying pans to cleaning supplies to usb phone cables and chargers, most at the $1.50 price, with a few items at higher prices. Generally the third place to go after visiting the $0.99 Store and Dollar General because their $1.50 base price is 50% higher than the other bargain stores (and almost everything is made in China). You get a better bargain at the $0.99 store for items like drinks, chips, batteries, and fresh foods, but Daiso carries some things you won't find over there, like a micro usb to usb c converter. Quality overall is a touch better here than at the other dollar stores, but quantity/sizes are usually...

There are larger Daisos elsewhere - the parking lot was super full both times we tried to go to this location. And those other Daisos are great, even if stock can vary from store to store. Save yourself a headache and go to another location, unless your plan is also to do some grocery, video, gift or food court shopping at the same time. The little gift shop right next to the Daiso had some nice writing papers and fountain pens, but seemed generally much more expensive...

Decent location!

Compared to other Daiso locations, they didn't have many of the items that we needed. They also did have certain items that we needed that other Daisos don’t. The place itself is pretty small, but the aisles weren't too squished. Prices were aligned with all of the other locations. The workers there were nice and helped us find stuff.
