I am leaving this review both as a vendor and as a pastry client of several years. I photographed a wedding two weeks ago where the cake artist was French's Cupcake Bakery. As you can see in the attached photo, the cake was beautifully decorated and arrived in perfect shape to the venue (something we photographers appreciate). Now a small disclaimer: I am a cake lover, so when clients hire me, I make it a point to inform them that they *have to* feed me cake. With that in mind, you are right to believe that I eat a lot of cake, haha. Well, I am happy to report that aside from being beautiful, this cake was delicately sweet and extremely moist --a delicious cake all around!

What a great find it was! I stopped on my way because I was curious about the bakery and had to taste my usual set: a cappuccino with almond croissant. Coffee was excellent, just the right strength and tasted great. I asked for oat milk and it was delicious. The croissant was baked to perfection and the size was too big to finish in one sitting, so I ended up taking the rest out. I also found out that the lady who served me was the owner. She was so nice and accommodating! I absolutely plan on making it my go to place for pastries and caffeine fix.

I came in here because I kept seeing this place to and from work. The prices somewhat good, $6 for an almond croissant and$3.75 for a strawberry muffin Quality of the food is low. The croissant was super heavy, not flaky. My strawberry muffin seemed just like a box of strawberry cake mix. I was expecting quality baked goods but was disappointed. Wouldn't consider coming back. EDIT: Look at the comparison in the croissants... the light airy one is how they should be.

We have been going to French's Cupcake Bakery for about 3 years now. For my son's First - Third Birthday, my daughters Baby shower and 1st birthday cake. We loved it- they were always helpful and the Cake's were great! My daughters second Birthday was fast approaching. I went into the store, talked with one of their bakers and she help me decide what cake I was going to do for my daughters 2nd Birthday. It was a smaller family and friend party- so I wanted something simple. I wasn't 100% sure on the frosting coloring, so she told me to call back in a few days to confirm the color and pay for it then. This was 3 days before I needed to pick up the cake, I called back to confirm the white frosting, they lady who answered the phone quoted me about $50 more than the original quote when I was in the shop. I asked for clarification, then she said she apologized and was wrong it's only $40 dollars more. I expressed my frustration and disappointment. She asked if I wanted to speak to her manager and I said yes. The lady that got on the phone stated she was the owner and that the reason for the price difference is, because I was wanting a smooth cake and that requires it to go to the cake decorator which is additional $40. If I wanted borders on the cake it would be the original quote of about $$75 dollars. I expressed my disappointment, I was not originally quoted that when I expressed in the shop I wanted smooth frosting- no decorating just smooth cake. I was not rude, I was just extremely disappointed. I was a loyal customer, it was 3 days away from the event and I wasn't going to pay $40 more dollars just to have a smooth cake, The lady one the phone stating she was the owner, had the audacity to say to me "that since I seemed upset and not happy that I should just go somewhere else. That she did not want to work with me if I was disappointed". Let me remind you, I was not rude one bit, again I just expressed how disappointed I was for the whole situation. She never once, offered to even take a little off that additional $40 or anything. I was not going to pay that Much for a simple plain cake. This is not customer service, I wasn't quoted that originally and this not how you treat returning loyal customers. I ended up going with them to do the cake- I felt like I couldn't find another bakery with Such short notice. The cake had a border- which I was not happy about and I got the original price for a cake I wasn't happy with. I don't believe this is how you treat customers. I have told everyone I know, family and friends who by cakes from them often as well and no one will be returning. It's just not how you treat...

They may be called French's cupcake bakery but they should be known as a cookie Bakery they have hands down the best cookies on planet Earth some of them are a little pricey but they offer very good deals on dozen and more they have all different types from classics to very unique and exotic stuff not to mention all the different pastries and cakes and everything they make I always get custom cakes here for friends and family that have important birthdays to me as their cakes are second to none as well or cupcakes are absolutely incredible to but more along your standard variety cupcake rather than these trendy fashionable places like sprinkles that pile on all kinds of stuff to make their cupcakes taste good there's a good just the way they are in fact better than most of the competition they are underrated but seriously the serious Gem of this place is there cookies so check it out. It's located off of Santa Ana and 17th Street on the corner and it's near Caliente restaurant in the parking lot kind of near the Bank of America ATM if you hit that you've...

Husband ordered a $160 birthday cake for MIL birthday party and I was helping to pick it up. Gave the lady in front my husband’s name, don’t know what list she looked at but without even checking the cake racks she told me she didn’t have my cake. Called my husband, confirmed that I’m at the right place. Went back in, she told her staffs to check but none of them were really checking just did a quick scan of the cake racks then told me again they didn’t have my cake. I had to put my husband on the phone with them to have them really start checking and magically found the cake on one of the cake racks. It was sitting there the whole time when they were doing their initial ā€œcheckā€. I’m gonna give them the benefit of the doubt that it’s nothing to do with me being Asian (ppl in front of me got their cakes without an issue), and that they just have bad management at the store. Very unpleasant experience, felt like being questioned the whole time there. Cake was also mid. You can get better cakes anywhere else. Not...
