Tried this new spot for the first time last night, and the tacos were amazing. The quality of the meat was very high, and I loved the Oaxaca cheese added to the tortilla. The taco tuesday special is 3 for $11.50, and you can get it for pick up. I got a 3 plates and tried the carne asada, pollo, fish, and shrimp tacos. You can sub grilled for seafood, but it is an upcharge. I also got an order of the chips and guac. The chips were amazing, but I wasn't crazy about the guac. It needed more heat and was a bit runny. My only complaint is the salsa is not complimentary like most places. It is $5.50 for 3 containers with chips or $3.50 for a salsa only flight. That is a bit steep for salsa! I'm a regular at Taco Mesa and love getting to choose salsa from the salsa bar. It would be nice to see that option here. The employee that was working threw in a couple of red salsas, but they weren't that great. I am more into green salsa and figured that would be thrown in as well. I would love to try the green salsa in the future, and it would be nice to be able to choose yourself. I'll be back here, but probably not as frequently due to the higher price point. Bottom line: The quality is amazing, but please offer an...
Read moreI come here once a week, if not twice. I served and bartended for years so I can appreciate the high level of service this crew provides. They are ALWAYS happy to see the next guest walk in and it really doesn’t feel forced. They are on top of any request you need and provide useful, honest answers to questions about the menu.
The chicken tacos are a different and delicious take on what could be the most bland meat of the them all and I’m hooked (and have gotten some friends hooked on them as well.) Beef taquitos and the enchiladas are also fantastic. My boyfriend says, “they make a solid bean and cheese burrito and quesadilla” (for those looking to embrace their inner child.)
They’re recently opened up a bar top and more seating as well so, usually not too hard to find a seat unless it’s Taco Tuesday.
All in all, come here. If you don’t like it,...
Read moreI came to Que Vida on my way home from a Yosemite hiking trip. I just wanted a really good carne asada burrito, and this place had excellent reviews.
My hopes weren’t too high, however I was super surprised and impressed with the quality and portion size. I ordered the Cali Asada Burrito, minus fries, add a double portion of asada. Wow, was the burrito massive and very tasty. The meat was very robust and thick, tasty, and plentiful. I have ordered extra asada at other restaurants and just received a basic portion. Que Vida does not skimp on portions or quality.
I was so impressed I ordered a breakfast burrito with asada to-go, after finishing my first burrito lol. Que Vida has great food, I will eat there again.
Cali Asada with double asada, minus fries. $18. Good deal, fat pieces of...
