Peet's Coffee — Restaurant in Costa Mesa

Absolutely disgraceful customer service. Twice in the past week, the company's automated ordering system abruptly canceled my online order with no explanation as to why.

When I contacted the store, on both occasions, the shift supervisors I spoke with were instantly dismissive and blamed the delivery service instead of taking accountability for the mishaps. They directed me to call the corporate office in Emeryville, which I did; but they were just as frustrating while copping an extreme "corporate" attitude about my experience.

Notwithstanding their overall quality and having been a long-time customer (since 1978), I am now a former customer who will never do business with this sorry outfit again! Too much legitimate competition for my dollar elsewhere.

UPDATE: Having been a long time customer of Peet's dating back to the early 70s, I decided to give them another try after a poor experience a few months back. All was well until today, when I had to call the store after I received the wrong item. The girl I spoke with was rude and dismissive. Her idiot response was that I was just calling to complain and that things like this just happen. Not acceptable. When I called back a little later to speak with Jessica the manager, I got another gal who tried to play gatekeeper to prevent me from speaking with Jessica myself, saying over and over that she is the manager on duty. I've had enough! Peet's used to be a place where the coffee was always great, as was the staff. Much has changed over the years and there is a lot more competition for my coffee dollar. Will not do business with Peet's again unless and until they change...

I was craving a strong cup of coffee (other than Espresso), & decided to try Peet's for the 1st time. The genuine, pleasant young lady taking my order suggested 2 or 3 options, which I appreciated, & I decided on a recommended drip coffee. The 2nd young lady @ the P/U counter was equally pleasant. Those encounters were a major part of the great vibe in the shop. Large windows brightened the seating area w/sunshine. It was a relaxing, quiet place to spend half an hour drinking an excellent cup of reasonably priced drip coffee! Thank you!

The store and outside is spotless, coffee is excellent but this review is about Kelsey. Kelsey is a GEM! Hey corporate office/owner if this young woman isn’t your manager and on her way to district manager, you are dropping the ball. I spent years in district management and this girl has got IT. Friendly, approachable, professional, genuine and a pleasure to talk to. I am impossible to upsell to (lol) but she did! I came in for coffee and left with knowledge about all your coffees and a suggestion and offer to grind the beans for me I couldn’t refuse.
