The Harp Inn — Restaurant in Costa Mesa

This place has a whole New Face! The remodel only compliments what has always been great. True Irish spirit, great food & I must say Very generous portions!! Every time I go there is Live entertainment. A rarity in most places on the 17th Street strip beyond a rogue guitarist here or there. Come hungry, & ready to either stomp your feet to A true Irish band or one of the others that frequent here. Dancing & lots of fun. Nice to walk to from my neighborhood, meaning I have been able to have a couple drinks & not worry about driving. If you havent been for a while you should go! A great long time place for just about everything, Especially if you are or want Irish! And heres an Update as of 2020 on some Fab new Menu items. The Harp Bowl? Couldnt put my fork down. It is absolutely Delicious. Chicken Caesar Salad? Same thing. The cook Here knows what he's doing & the menu here proves it not only by a very well, rounded selection of items to choose from but I have Never had a bad meal here period. One of the rudest experiences I have ever experienced at a bar. Friends and I attended on a Wednesday during Trivia night. The woman running on the event was super rude as soon as we walked in. A friend of mine was checking yelp to see recommendations of what to order and in front of everyone (during the trivia round), she yells out on the mic that my friend is cheating and that no phone devices are allowed. This was less than 5 min when we came in and very embarrassing to immediately assume. She then came to our table two more times to “check if we were cheating” although nothing happened.

Similarly to the waiter we got, they didn’t seem knowledgeable on anything to order and was very rude while taking orders. When we were double checking our drinks he huffed our saying “that’s what you ordered” and walked away. We had a group of 8 so naturally, we wanted to make sure there weren’t any mixups. And ofc there was.

It seems like this place isn’t very welcoming to new people coming to trivia and be careful to be yelled at when going on your phone for any reason. Additionally, seems like a lot of the staff are on some power trip on how to treat...

We had the absolute best time hosting our company Christmas party at the Harp Inn! Everyone said it was the best Christmas party we ever had. The set up is perfect for a good size group, everyone got to mingle and chat and didn’t get stuck at an uptight seated dinner where they were stuck talking to one colleague, plus all the other guests at the pub are fun and made us all feel welcome and the service was outstanding!! They were on top of all of our needs and gave us so much attention. There was an awesome band and the games were on so everyone was entertained. The best part was the value!!! I could not believe how much we got and how fair the bill was. And let me tell you the drinks were coming. Apparently our team didn’t get the memo that you shouldn’t over do it at your company Christmas party lol. They had sooo much fun!!! And the establishment was decorated so pretty and charming for the holidays.
