Tom's Place — Restaurant in Costa Mesa

edit the old review : i been a dedicat costumer for double cheesburger of this restaurant for plus 10 yrs. in my opinion that was one of the best burgers in whole orange county. flavor fresh juicy patty just made you crazy. that was why i been there at least once a month for over 10 yrs and reffer that location to all my costumers and friends and families. but today been my first horrible experience and i am really sad a bout that. i got the really junk burger. tasteless meat, dry, frozen burger that was totally different than my experince plus they raised the price as well. more money+less quality. i know and i can understand during all that recetion and inflation everybody and all businesses facing the hard time. but that 180 degree change been really unacceptable. how a business can loos their dedicated costumers that easy?!! that act and made a wrong strategy shows me clearly they dont have any proffesional experince and knowledge at marketing and business. maybe they are good cheff. but for sure not a businessman at all. they change their amazing delicious patty with the frozen junk patty ( like chain fast food companies ) and then increase the prices at the same time. today been my last day this restaurant and that was really hard for me to believe that i lost my favorite burger restaurant. After that you can read my positive review that i wrote 5 yrs ago for that restaurant. +++++++++++++++++++++++++ Wow wow . I am the foodie body and i try a lot of different places . And now this place is my favorite and first choice if i wanna eat the burger . They use the fresh meat to made their burgers and they use the grill for cook it and i think it's the reason the taste of this burger is totally different with other places . But there is a point . Maybe there is some more restaurant they follow the same way and i try it before . So what's the difference ? With all my experiences the difference is about the price and size . I bet you can't find any double cheese burger with this quality and size for some thing...

On a pleasant day with a temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, patrons who wish to enjoy the outdoors must endure the presence of smokers. I personally witnessed three Asian individuals smoking cigarettes excessively, resulting in ash falling onto my food. Consequently, I was compelled to request a takeout container for my meal and subsequently inquired about the rationale behind allowing smoking on the patio. The staff at Tom's Place confirmed that smoking is indeed permitted. While it may not be a legal requirement, common courtesy dictates that smoking should not be permitted in close proximity to a restaurant's patio, especially considering the potential for ash to enter the establishment and contaminate food. It is my sincere hope that Tom's Place will acknowledge this issue and implement appropriate measures, such as erecting signage that prohibits smoking within a 25-foot radius of the entrance. Patrons who prefer to dine outdoors should be aware of the potential for secondhand...

This is the place to go when you want to either get good food through the drive-thru not fast food but real cooked food or sit inside on a rainy day or sit outside when it's nice it's like a little diner and overall it's a good time it's good food and they have a great variety and a good menu gets a little noisy sometimes but it's right on the corner so if you're sitting outside there's traffic, cars and if your sitting inside you know there's a lot of people because it's good and it's a good time to go eat! They have a huge menu offering a variety of great Burgers breakfast foods pancakes breakfast burritos you name it they have a very good menu of really good diner style food so if you want to skip the fast food and once some home cooking and not too long a time this is the place to come. UPDATED NOW THEY NEED TO EASE UP ON SAUCES ON BURGERS, THEY TURN INTO SLOP HALF WAY THRU EATING IT. NOT COOL. NOT HAPPY. Another Update; as of June 20, it appears that whatever troubles they've had having adequate help, is worse. The wait time in the drive thru is ridiculous & the food isnt any better. Bummed.
