Urbanism Furniture — Local services in Costa Mesa

I have been cruising Urbanism for years, they being so adjacent to Trader Joes.. First time I entered the studio I was not in the position financially to purchases though the staff was always accommodating and the goods were really seductive. They did not and do not have that NB creepy vide (right!).

Fast forward to about 10 days ago… I had a meltdown about my environs and without any expectations I walked into Urbanism. Was super stimulated about how my life might be ramped up with a little, or major, overhaul. Though just window shopping…

And that day Krista was on the floor. We chatted. Pleasantries. Yada, Yada.

Then she asked me “how are you” in a tone of sincerity. Like really? Who does that? With sincerity. This 2023.

I bored here with my story. She insinuated herself into my “story”, from her perspective, and gave me permission to move forward.

Bang !!!

I bought a piece, a sofa, that has become a linchpin to my newfound confidence to move forward, embrace the present and reclaim my Mojo.

Her talent as a designer, and an intuitive soul, is the rare stuff not often encountered. I am an architect. I deal with contrived BS on a daily basis.

Recently moved into a new home and went to Urbanism for all of our furniture needs. We ordered a custom couch, coffee table, 2 accent chairs, dining table, dining chairs & a buffet! It's really fun to walk their show floor and see how they've created different spaces for all of the furniture.

I think the quality of furniture is fantastic and would recommend going there to buy furniture on the show-floor. I'm docking a star because of our experience ordering through a sales rep. Unfortunately, there were a few issues with our order (sales rep ordered the wrong dining chairs & coffee table) and I was disappointed with her low effort to fix the situation.

In the end, after a lot of back and forth, things were made right after we begged to exchange our items for something else on the show floor. Luckily, we were able to find replacement items that we liked! I love my new furniture, but it took a lot of work...

I have bought many items in the past (bar stools, nightstands, dresser) and have been happy with their furniture BUT...

I've been there two separate occasions ready to buy a couch and accent chair. First time she was busy with other customers and ended up buying a couch somewhere else.

This time, the morning of 1/18. I sat around patiently waiting for her to finish with someone trying to decide on a couch or something.

She asked if i needed help, and then mentioned that i can buy over the phone or online. I said, i know what i want to buy and already had a accent chair and ottoman in mind. She just kinda blew me off and that was that.

Maybe i because i was in a hoodie and shorts and looked very casual.... Who knows, I'm an ER doctor, maybe i should show up in scrubs.

I'm sorry but I'll NEVER come buy from Urbanism again. Horrible...
