Thai is my favorite food and this used to be my favorite place but today will be my last visit.
The menu has changed sadly as has the food itself. Noodles appear to be off the menu (they are crossed out on every page) which while sad would not itself be a deal breaker.
Unfortunately, along with the entire noodle option having been cut so have the portion sizes. The dinner portion is the size of what used to be (perhaps still is) the lunch portion. Bearing in mind I was there on a Sunday at lunch when my wife asked for a lunch order she was told they only did dinner orders on Sundays.
The chicken in the cashew chicken had a distinctly frozen pre-breaded taste and feel to it as well. This observation seemed confirmed when my wife found part of the packaging cooked onto one piece of chicken. In all our many visits before the chicken did not have this processed pre-breaded taste or feel to it. Definately a change for the worse.
Each of those issues taken in isolation I could perhaps deal with. Collectively though it is to much.
Beyond that though is an issue which by itself I will not tolerate, surcharges without notice. Now to be fair maybe I overlooked the notice going in as I wasn't looking for it but I also did not see it going out when I was. That said a non-cash surcharge without notice is a deal breaker for me. Not because the 2.5% is more than I can afford but because I deserve to know before I order that I am going to be paying extra. I don't do hidden fees for any service and won't do business with companies that find that acceptable.
It seems the new management has a new approach but tbat has cost them an old and enthusiastic customer. On the upside this has inspired me to learn how to make my own thai peanut sauce so I have that...
Read moreLast straw tonight. Weve been going here for years despite how rude Sunisa always is. The last couple years the quality has been steadily declining. Tonight it was completely in-edible and the portions were extremely stingy. The potatos in the curry were raw, the Chakey Beef was dangerously undercooked. The veggies were totally raw and it was in a watered down sauce. The rice was dry. The crab wontons were vile. My 6 year old son instantly spit his out. They were exploded open and soggy. They tasted like bad fryer grease. We did not feel the food was safe to eat. We never complain but this was $60 worth of inedible food. So we called and we were instantly interrupted and told by Sunisa that we were lying. Shenrefused tonlusten to a full sentence. She yelled and talked over us the entire time. We wanted to return the food and get a refund. We didnt eat any of it except tiny taste bites. But she was completely nasty to me on the phone and called me a liar multiple times. I begged her to calm down and hear me out. I really wanted to just resolve the issue and keep my local thai place. I don't understand why she was so nasty. :( She literally said she had done us a favor by cooking for us. I tried to explain that us paying for a good or service isnt her doing us a favor. She started yelling and so we hung up. I'm completely heartbroken that we lost one of our favorite restaurants and I'm also heart broken that we have been supporting a business with an owner who is clearly an awful human. She would rather loose an entire family of loyal customers than fix a major...
Read moreMy wife and I have went here for years, and have always enjoyed it. But today was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. First off, it was very cold inside the restaurant. It was cold outside as well. I was wearing jeans, and a hooded sweater too. The waitress did not come to take our order or offer us drinks for at least 10 minutes. When she finally brought out my drink order, she didn't ask if we wanted water or offer it. After waiting a few minutes without her checking on us, I went to the counter and asked for a water for my wife, the waitress looked at me as if she was offended by the question. Without apologizing, she turned around and started to get us our water.
When she brought out or appetizers, she seemed to warm up slightly, but there was still an air of stand-offishness to her demeanor. The food was good at least.
In summation, it really turned me off from dining at this establishment again. My wife and I have been going here for years, and really enjoy the food and the service in the past. But today was a complete strike out for the service of the establishment. I get that people have bad days, and may forget things every now and then. But the place did not seem all to busy, and no apology was offered. Not sure if we will be dining here again. We just may do carry out. The Pad Thai is one of the best in town. I had thier Hawaiian fried rice for the first time, which was good, and my wife enjoys thier curry. So we will probably just do carry out...
