MOD Pizza — Restaurant in Cottleville

My family and I went into MOD Pizza in Cottleville, Missouri for dinner on September 7, 2024 at approximately 6:15pm. I had never been there before so I was excited to try a new place. There was a line and we waited patiently in line, looking at the menu to figure out what we wanted. When it was our turn we patiently waited, but no one acknowledged us at the pizza counter. I then said to my family I think we’re supposed to order over at the register so we walked over to the register and begin telling the girl behind the counter our order. The girl behind the register said, oh you’re supposed to place your order over there and pointed to where we just came from. I told her I didn’t know that because no one over there acknowledged us so we came over here. At this point, she turned around and walked away from me and didn’t say another word to me and started helping with making another pizza for someone else as my family and I just stood there. We looked over and the couple behind us were already giving their order so we were going to have to stand in line again. At that point, I told my family no way we’re not doing that again let’s just leave. I did ask to speak to the manager before we left and told him how we weren’t aware we were supposed to order over on the other side and we’ve already been waiting in line and the girl just told me we needed to go back over there and order and walked away from us. She could’ve easily handled that better and told us oh I can take your order here no problem. The manager on duty didn’t seem to care either. My family and I left and will never go back. It was going to cost over $70 for 3 people to eat here anyway, not worth the money. Pizza and salad for three people should not...

Amazing food, friendly staff. I have to give 4 stars because the service was so slow compared to my other visits at their Wentzville location. There was approx 10 people in front of me and I stood in line for a good 35 minutes before ordering. Then another 10 minutes for the pizza to cook. I will say the pizza was superb though. The wait time won't deter me from coming back.

UPDATE: I went back to this location again and the same thing happened. Very nice staff and excellent food but the wait is crazy! There were 4 people in front of me with 1 pizza order each, and it took 12 minutes for me to reach the order counter. Right before I could state my food order, a phone call order came in and I stood there and watched as 7 call-in phone orders were made before my order was taken. WOW! NOT COOL! I understand the call in orders have to be made but there's gotta be a better way.

TIP: My parents arrived late to meet me and there were approx. 12 people in line. I knew from experience that was atleast a 30 minute wait so guess what I advised them to do? They sat down with me in the restaurant, called in their order by phone, and we sat there and watched as their order was created before everyone in line. It was ready in about 5 minutes!

Had a great time during our first visit to Mod. Staff were excellent in helping us understand the system and great at going along with some of our crazy requests (I made my pizza in four quarters to try different flavor combinations). Essentially, Mod is the Subway concept with pizza. Pick your size and build up everything from there. Once completed, the pizzas only take a few minutes to cook and Mod even offers finishing dressings to go on top once out of the oven. If pizza (especially thin crust) isn't your thing, the same ingredients can be turned into a custom salad. I was also surprised to see a selection of bottled and draft beers available, but even more excited about the milk shakes (which we'll definitely try on our next visit).

The Cottleville location is on the south end of the Schnucks shopping plaza at the corner of Hwy N and Mid Rivers. It has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and can accommodate large groups. If you're in the area and jonesin' for some make-your-own pizza (or salad) stop in and check...
