Adriana's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Cottonwood

My review is basically because of the service. My waitress, who I also think was the owner, set a bad experience for the place. The place wasn’t the cutest place in town but we decided to get food there anyway as a local talked about it. We looked through the menu for something to eat and decided on a burrito. It was lunch and we didn’t want a big meal. We asked the waitress if it was enough for two people and she said no and made hand gestures of the size making it look tiny. I was thinking of ordering a cheese quesadilla too but decided to just wait for the burrito to see if we would still be hungry after. Well to my surprise the burrito was actually quite big. More than enough for two. She had this sad smirk on her face like she was upset that she lied to us and had to serve it to us. She kept asking over and over again if anything else we wanted. I told her we were fine with the burrito as we are not big people and don’t need two huge burritos. The check came and to my surprise it has a charge for sharing a plate. She didn’t explain this to us in the beginning either. So with her lying to us about the size of the food and then charging us for splitting the meal I was not happy. I asked her what the charge was just in case and she explained that they charge that when people split meals. I asked her to take care of the charge as she had never explained that and it is just plain rude and deceptive for a business to do that. I also had put down an American Express card to pay for the meal. She exclaimed “we also don’t take American Express - you know what! Why don’t I just buy your meal!” And stormed off into the kitchen to where you could here items being thrown around. We could have payed by another card but she stormed off and her temper tantrum was uncalled for. I would be willing to remove this review if she apologizes for her nasty behavior. We all have bad days and maybe she was having one. Also, I want her to promise that she will make people aware that she is going to charge for splitting meals and the real size of a meal. I'm not sure why they have anything less than a 5 star because this place is amazing! It's not a huge place, but it doesn't matter, Adriana and family are doing a fabulous job! We were in town for 3 days and we had dinner one day and lunch another. We read several reviews before visiting and so many people talked about planning trips around stopping here for a meal and we thought, hmm it must be pretty good. Well....it was amazing!!!! Everything is homemade and they are happy to customize whatever you order, you don't want onions? no problem, we will leave them out. You only want meat and cheese inside your burrito? we can do that. You want extra mushrooms? sure, we can do that, we can make it however you want. It was all prepared fresh and we even saved room for dessert, the homemade flan. If you are a flan lover, then you too should save room, the flavors when we were there were caramel, peanut butter, and cream cheese. I opted for the cream cheese and was not disappointed, the texture was perfect and the flavor was cheesecake meets flan. YUMMY! Adriana and family, please keep doing what you're doing!!!

I LOVED it, it's better than Calivaras in cottonwood, some of the best Mexican food 🌮 🌯 I recommend! As soon as we got there some people were leaving and they exclaimed they loved it. They told us to try the pumpkin flan,Wich is actually why we went. When we got in Adriana herself already had a table picked out for us; with two dips Wich I will admit were a little more liquid than I'd like (be careful not to spill or drip) and a tray of delicious warm fresh tortilla chips (worth just going for those) I Got a burrito that was fried and wow 🤤 it was delish. Other family members got the shrimp diabla 🔥 🍤(which was better than Calivaras shrimp diabla ). The land sea and air (it's in Spanish I can't remember it of the to of my head) it has shrip chicken and pork. The tortillas feel home made like they were pressed there, so warm and soft. I did learn im not a huge fan of flan it's got an interesting texture, like jello pudding. This had a pumpkin spice flavor that's sweet and but not to sweet.
