Loved it - loved the firepits, the music in the halls, the room was really nice but didn't feel like a hotel, it felt nicer!
The ONLY negative things I can possibly think of is that while we liked the balcony, there wasn't much of a view; someone was smoking under us and the front desk was on it right away - thank you! The pool is in a cute secluded area - but it's across the street... for some reason I thought it was in a courtyard?? It may have closed early, or for some reason we didn't get a chance to use it. The free drink on check-in was nice! We got the Sip & Stay package for one of our two nights, which gave you a $50 gift card to use across any of their restaurants. It was a bit annoying that at least at Crema, and possibly the others, there was a 3.5% non-cash fee applied... on their own freaking gift card is what they told me - but I don't clearly see that on my receipt so I may have been misinformed... but I do see a to-go fee.. More frustrating was the free continental breakfast or $5 credit towards breakfast at Crema - you can get drip coffee and a specific pastry; I wanted an espresso instead and I couldn't just pay the difference - but it was less expensive for me to ask for the pastry out of the package - toss the coffee I was given for free, and then buy my own espresso separately. Also, they don't give you priority seating, so it was an hour wait for that or just get it to go at the window and take it back to the hotel.... for a fee..
I would stay again as the hotel was VERY comfortable, but I had debating staying here or Jerome and decided 2 nights here would be better... next time I think I'd do one night in each town or possibly taking a ride on the railroad. Don't miss making a reservation at the SW...
Read moreOverall pretty nice stay. Probably one of the best hotel accommodations in the area. We reserved a cottage based on the hotel website pictures and envisioned that with a cottage and the upgraded price there would be better privacy, quietness and being able to utilize the great front porch with adirondack chairs. We were very disappointed to learn that our specific cottage didn't have the front porch that was pictured on the website but rather a drab side porch facing the wall of another unit with the only ambience being a heavy duty electrical box. Definitely would NOT have booked this cottage if we'd known that the pictures shown were not representative of all the cottages. Additionally, the cottages are adjacent to the pool and the patios/porches of other cottages. We were awoken by our neighbors who decided a robust conversation on their porch at 6:30 am was a good way to start everyone's day. That same night featured rowdy pool partyers. The hotel was super responsive on that late night issue, for which we were very grateful.
The interior of the unit was great and exactly as pictured. Nicely decorated and clean and plenty of space to relax. For the ladies specifically, just a heads up there is no good lighting for applying makeup but that would be my only and minor complaint.
Overall I'm on the fence about returning or just trying another place. It's perfectly situated to walk about downtown and is a very cute place to stay. We were just disappointed about the noisy neighbors and misrepresentation of the front porch as it's not super...
Read more+JMJ Thursday 29 March 2024. If I could give the Tavern Hotel a trillion star rating, I would. Mainly because of the OUTSTANDING customer service provided by the night desk clerk, Monique (please forgive, not sure of spelling.) An emergency occurred early this morning (after midnight) whereby there was a need to find a few day's accommodations for an elderly man. Monique was absolutely gracious after booking a place and then meeting us to ensure the elderly fellow's belongings were placed in the accommodation (she carried them herself) and also guided him as he used his walker. She took the time to show him how to use the key and then gifted him with Breakfast passes for his two day stay. Can't commend Monique enough for her helpfulness. Lastly, from what I could see of the accommodations, they were beautifully decorated (I love the dogs' decor!) , spacious enough for a comfortable stay, and even had a patio. Very lovely. When I left the two, (I had to leave because I had actually met the senior citizen when I was enroute home from work.) Monique was offering to show the senior citizen the location of the Lobby. Simply amazing! She is courtesy and concern incarnate. It is improbable that I will ever book accommodations for myself, but I will certainly recommend the Tavern Hotel to anyone asking where to stay in our fine town of Cottonwood. ...
