This is a difficult review to write. It is close to a 4 star, but I opted to let the words tell the story. Dustin, the server was very good. Jesse, the manager was also very good, attentive and interested in the comments. The lavosh appetizer was very large, but the toppings were held back from the edge which made the pita very dry. After ordering, the Cesar salad came right out. But, the dressing was in a small cup on the side. I would expect it to be mixed at a restaurant of this caliber. It then took another 45 minutes to get the entrées. The server came by and apologized a couple times, but both salmon and chicken alfredo are quite quick and easy to prepare. To be fair, once the entrées finally came, they were quite good. But, watching people who arrived later receive, finish and pay for their meal before even receiving mine was disappointing. After a friendly discussion with Jesse, he not only comped the meal, but provided a gift card for a return visit. More importantly, he assured that the issues would be addressed. I will definitely go back and look forward to seeing them perform at the level they are capable of. I truly can not stress enough the professionalism and dedication of the staff. I truly believe this was just an off night and I look forward to both returning here and visiting the other restaurants owned...
Read moreMy husband and I just moved to Cottonwood and have been trying out different restaurants. We decided to go to the Tavern restaurant tonight and we were absolutely blown away by the service and food. The staff is wonderful. They kept on top of our drinks and made sure our drinks never got empty. The food wasn’t rushed out so we were able to take our time and enjoy everything. Our server Becca was so nice and made sure our meal came out perfect. We ordered some potstickers for an appetizer and they were incredible, especially the sauce they came with. For our entree we ordered the December special which was 3 filet medallions, 2 shrimp skewers, mashed potatoes, vegetables and a soup or salad. The strawberry salad was fantastic, the dressing wasn’t too sweet or tart and the ratio of spinach to toppings was perfect. The filet medallions came out beautifully. They had a nice crust on them and were cooked evenly and to perfection. The shrimp were so tender and cooked just right. The mashed potatoes were incredibly creamy and the broccoli was tender. I also ordered the prickly pear iced tea as I’ve never tried it before and it was really good. It wasn’t too sweet and not too overpowering, which I liked. Overall, we are definitely looking forward to coming back here again and highly recommend anyone coming into Cottonwood to try...
Read moreI frequently visit this restaurant with my friends and have generally had positive experiences. However, on two occasions, we discovered hair in our meals. Despite this, we were understanding as the staff promptly addressed the issue both times. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was marred by an incident when we were leaving. I typically treat my friends and cover their expenses, but on this particular night, I forgot my wallet and the restaurant did not accept tap payment. To resolve the situation, I transferred some money to my friend so she could use her card. Regrettably, I had already exceeded my spending limit, resulting in me being able to send only $100. Our bill amounted to approximately $80-90, plus the credit card fee, leaving my friend with no funds to cover a tip. Following our payment, the manager approached us outside and accused us of being frequent complainers who never tip, which is entirely untrue. I possess receipts and bank statements that prove otherwise. The manager informed us that we were no longer welcome at the restaurant, citing that their servers heavily rely on tips for their income. While I apologize for our lack of funds on this particular night, maybe your servers could benefit from better wages instead of relying...
