Georgie's Cafe — Restaurant in Cottonwood

Although we have lived in CV for 6 years, this was out first visit to Georgie's. To be honest, it doesn't look too inviting from the outside. However, the food was fabulous and our waitress (R) was the best. The guy walking around with the white dress shirt hovered too closely literally watching and waiting for us to finish. Before I even swallowed my last bite he was at the table taking my plate. Our waitress gave us the bill and said to pay on the way out. For some reason, the cashier who apparently has nothing else to do, came to the table and said she could take care of it for us. She took the bill, my card and returned saying "sign this". I always like to look over my bill and at this point my wife was in the restroom. Within 20 seconds the cashier asked, "are you going to sign this?" To which I responded, "I didn't realize you were in such a rush to get us out of here." Regarding the food and our waitress I would give it 5 stars and we would definitely return. The place is pretty run down and they're not keeping it very clean. The food is good in the service is good. It's just that this trip I noticed more than usual things that were unkept. The valances are so thick with dirt that the top has formed a life of its own and looks like they might be growing. Both the coffee mugs were dirty and when I got to the bottom of my coffee there was something growing in there and it made me really sick to my stomach to know that was there the whole time I was drinking my coffee.

I like everyone there and they're good servers and the food is always good though. This is just a heads up that if you have OCD You Won't Do Well here.

They need to go top to bottom and clean thoroughly. Also the vents in the ceiling (I meant to take a picture of them) are absolutely filthy, nasty and black.

I noticed it's for sale. Maybe everyone has just given up. I hope it sells and somebody puts new life into it and I hope that all the people involved in the business right now end up in a better place...

Georgie's is the best cafe you will find in all the Verde Valley! Plenty of seating, always disinfecting menus and surfaces between customers. Fantastic staff, and the food, wow! Prices went up a while ago but so did everywhere! Well worth the price. By the way, for those of you who still feel like you can feel good about leaving a $2.00 tip, please don't eat out! The only time a $2.00 tip might be acceptable is if you just want a coffee. People have to make a living and that's why they are there waiting on you. Please be grateful and appreciate the fact that someone can bring you everything you're heart desires, top off your drink and clean up after you, all, hopefully with a smile and a thank you. Honestly, if you can't give a decent tip, please stay home and do your own dishes. I am not a waitress but know many. Tips are what keeps good ones going back to work. Tips pay their Bill's.
