HuHot Mongolian Grill — Restaurant in Council Bluffs

HuHot's a great little restaurant where you can go and select your choice of meats, vegetables, noodles, and a wide variety of sauces and their cooks cook the food on a large circular cook-top.

The general options include beef, chicken, pork (but on occasion they will offer shrimp, muscles, sausage, meat balls, and a variety of other seafoods).

They'll often offer a variety of new sauces throughout the year, some are hit or miss.

My only caution is to those that have any food allergies, as there is no discernible way to determine if any of the sauces have been contaminated by another - additionally the sauces will often run together on the table top.

Some of the sauces contain soy, ginger, garlic, and coconut, just to name a few.

If you're new to the location or trying it for the first time, I'd high recommend you consider using one of the prescribed sauce combinations listed just above the sauce station that hang from the ceiling, as they will give you flavorful results that won't come out to being not flavorful enough, or overwhelming. I have a big long gray beard & HuHut dared asked me for my ID so I could have a nice cold Corona with my dinner. I don’t think so!!

I felt sorry for the bartender as I’m told the company makes sure through surveillance that she cannot use her own commonsense but must rather bow down to stupidity & worship at the altar of political correctness.

I’m not some punk ass 21-year-old kid looking for a beer, I have children old enough to drink and I don’t need some idiotic company insulting me by making their employees ask for ID. I take pride in my age & my gray beard. I don’t need to be insulted at dinner time. I don’t need a beer that badly!! I will not give these idiots a penny ever again.

Although I must say, I felt so bad for the bartender gal who was losing her tip money from my drink, I tipped her & plus some, as if I was actually served. I figured......why should she suffer for the stupidity of these businesss owners.

HuHot is my absolute fav restaurant. Was staying with my mom in Omaha and we decided to go to Council Bluffs to eat for Mothers Day. I’m a server at Applebee’s and I understand the industry especially on Mothers Day. Our server never told us her name and was absolutely disgusting. Took her 10 minutes to even greet our table even tho there was no wait time, then after that managed to mess up our drink order which is all she had to bring us. Every time she would walk by our table it was nothing but nasty looks and saying something under her breath. My boyfriend went to go pay for the whole table and she ignored him 4 times after we’ve already been done eating for 20 minutes. I have genuinely never gotten such bad service anywhere I went. Nor do I ever leave reviews. Manager was too busy to come talk us about THEIR server. Quite frankly they both deserve to lose their jobs. That’s unacceptable behavior for a restaurant.
