I was overjoyed to find this place. There are a ton of breakfast, lunch spots in the Akron area, but the vast majority of them are not any good. This place is really really good. And it shows that they work hard and that they love what they do and they love their customers. So why am I giving it four stars instead of five. I had a very strange experience when I went there today. So they were busy and the host asked me if I wanted to sit at the countertop since it was just me one person. I didn't have a problem with that. So there were four chairs at the countertop and she asked me to sit in whichever chair I like. So I chose the one that was one chair away from what looked like the wall on the countertop so that I wasn't up against the wall and uncomfortable. So I'm sitting there after I order and the person who may have been a manager or just someone running expo came over. Kind of looked through me, pushed all the table setting stuff and the wall which apparently was not permanent but a sliding piece so that they could get more countertop space for to-go orders right up next to me. Didn't ask me if it was okay didn't say hey. Would you mind if we do this or we have to do this? We have so many to-go orders. I'm sorry. Just kind of looked straight through me like I didn't exist and pushed everything into my space. Luckily I'm not one of those people who has those nightmares of the walls closing in on him. If somebody was I imagine they probably wouldn't have been very happy. I completely understand needing the countertop space to deal with the large amount of to-go orders that you get. But my recommendation would be at the very least. If there was somebody sitting at or near that wall, ask them. If it's okay. Nine times out of 10 they will say it's okay. And if you really start to run low on space for to-go orders, take all the dessert displays off the countertop and just use that countertop as well. The only other thing I noticed sort of systematically is that the lady who was serving the countertop who was super nice and amazing had tables on the complete opposite wall. And the hosts had sat myself two other people at the countertop and three or four other tables at that opposite wall all at the same time. So that poor girl had to go through and get everybody's drink orders and then bring their drinks out. Then get everyone's food orders and bring their food out then get their checks. It slowed everything down because she had to spend all this time bouncing from table to table. When the concept and the best way of doing something like that is staggering or rotating seating so that The servers don't get overwhelmed and the customers or diners aren't sitting there going where the heck is my server? The only other thing I noticed was she handed me my check but I've never been there before so I didn't know that you paid it on your way out. Just make sure that servers say hey. Here's your bill. You can pay them on your way out. Thank you so much for coming. You have a wonderful day. You still are by far the best breakfast lunch spot that I have ever had in the Akron area bar. None hands down. You just need a little bit of like...
Read moreNice sized, free standing building with a new, modern take on the outside, eye catching, pleasant. Benches and tables located outside as well, nice! Lots of parking available with handicap parking and wheelchair accessible entrance. Clean establishment. A wonderfully cozy feel. Pleasant and attentive staff. We had a fantastic server. God bless her! Thank you for the 5-star service. Full menu offering lots from breakfast to lunch items. They also offer Mimosas and other yummy spirits! Coffee was good for weak-medium flavored, I prefer stronger. We did purchase 2 of their mugs with fun and clever sayings lol. He had an omelette. Was a nice presentation. He enjoyed it immensely. The lobster bisque was not to my liking, a bit on the flavorless "flour" tasting side. The hollandaise sauce was not what I would consider "homemade" as she claimed. Had a powdery taste to it, like instant made. Consistancy was way off. I prepare hollandaise sauce frequently at home, was taught by Master Chefs. The Reuben I ordered, they forgot couple ingredients lol. When I finally got a real Reuben, it was delicious. French fries were hot and scrumptious! This is a place I'd definitely come back to again to try other items from the menu. Highly recommend to others to visit, eat, drink and enjoy! We will be back for more eats and perhaps a spirit or two to boot! Bon appetit and...
Read moreWith the status of their new restaurant renovations the location itself is beautiful. Brand new building and modern look to a relaxed breakfast diner. Their food is some of the best in the area with low prices and outstanding quality.
my review would be a 4/5 if it wasn’t for their slow service. Today they clearly do not have a solid plan to manage all the tables that they need to serve. this leads to problems in the kitchen, people waiting for a table (sometimes 20+ people), and the delivery of your food. I gave this place a couple of tries since it opened on weekdays and weekends and they had the same issues.
It would be faster to drive to another diner 20+ minutes away and eat your food then to wait for a table there. here’s a time frame of how long it takes to make a breakfast meal, get seated at a table (15-30 min avg.), have your order taken (10-20 mins avg.), waiting for your food to be made (15-25 min avg.), and finally eating and finishing your meal (5-20 min avg.). With those numbers, you are looking at a minimum wait of 40 minutes just to have food on your table in front of you.
This seems very unreasonable for a simple breakfast diner, and after several attempts to see if this was just a couple of bad experiences I can say I will be spending my...
