A tiny "spot" so to speak. We got the teriyaki chicken bowl, teriyaki beef bowl and a double cheeseburger. The restaurant is so small, even without covid, the table space is very limited. However right now there is take out only. We had to wait outside to order as they only let a few people in at a time. The place is basically a kitchen and an order counter. People we waited with outside told us how good the food was but looking at the place, I must confess I was a bit skeptical due to the appearance of the restaurant in a strip mall. The bowl comes in a square container and it was packed with rice and beef or chicken arranged beautifully with avocado feathered over the top. (The avocado was extra price.) The meat mixed with rice, avocado and scallions was absolutely wonderful. The beef had an almost a bbq flavor, mixed with a not too sweet, not too thick teriyaki sauce. I enjoyed the beef over the chicken but both were fantastic. The double cheeseburger was meaty and tasty. Pouring teriyaki over the burger made it even better. (There is an extra charge for extra teriyaki sauce, 25 cents.) The chicken bowl is $8.25 for the large and the beef $9.25 for the large. Well worth the value for how much food you get. The double cheeseburger was $5.79 and was very large. Overall this place is well worth a visit, even though you'll have to take it home or eat in your car in the...

Tuck away in a not so busy plaza in the city of Covina is The Spot Teriyaki.
I was in the area to do some shopping and I remember a friend mentioning this place before so I decided to stop by and give it a try.
As you walk in it's definitely one of those small mom and pops type restaurant. There is nothing fancy or over the top about this place but don't let the looks of it turn you away.
I ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl and added avocado to it. I'm already happy with a regular teriyaki chicken bowl but adding that fresh and flavorful avocado to it just took it to another level. I've actually never had a bowl with avocado and I'm so happy they suggested I do. The chicken was cooked fresh and juicy (you can see them grilling it while you order). The avocado cost extra (where doesn't it?!?) but they definitely do a great job in picking out the fresh and ripped ones, worth the extra charge. They don't overload the bowl with teriyaki and of course they have some on the tables for you to add more to your liking.
They have a wide selection of options to enjoy, even though I haven't had a chance to try anything else I will be a returning customer to pick up a bowl and maybe something I haven't tried.
FYI: Tons of parking available and the staff is very cool, down to...
Read moreFood was very tasty. My reason for 4 stars is because of pricing. I dont understand how I ordered a small chicken bowl for like $9 bucks and my total came out to $15!? The man at the register asked if I wanted Avocado I said no. Then he asked if Onions are ok I said yes ( thinking onions automatically free went on the food) . I did not choose to tip. I thought my price included a drink. I did not get a receipt to review what my order was (my fault) . After receiving the order I asked for the drink. The guy said I did not order a drink. I was confused because all I got was a small chicken bowl no veggies the menu price said $9 I also saw that they charge a little more for grilled onions (which i did not get after he asked me if that was ok and I said yes). IDK WHAT HAPPEN. It was bugging me all day. I did not want to be a ":KAREN" because it was hot that day. I just did not like what seemed to be an up charge. May it was by accident. who knows. I'll probably just try it one more time and to ask for a receipt next time. Make sure to remind customers there is a fee for grilled onions and Avocado the way its asked is as if comes with it. Sorry . the price just did not sit well. Something went wrong. My fault for not catching...
