the food at crazy pig covington is a 10/10 ! everything came out just as described and was very delicious! the host at the front was very welcoming, attentive and friendly. She really sets you up for an amazing breakfast experience. when i visited with my mom and aunt about 2 weekends ago she met us at the host stand, informed us of the wait time, and offered us menus to look over while we waited. once a few tables were ready she let us know that we could choose from any of the three available tables. we chose a table right in the front, very close to the host stand. the server took awhile to greet us but once she did she took our drink order and disappeared for some time. she returned to the restaurant floor but never to our table. she then went out to the patio and i assumed that she had other tables to tend to. she then came back into the restaurant and greeted her other two tables, brought out their drinks and took their breakfast order. my mom then stopped her and informed her that we were ready to order. she took our order and then disappeared again. a good runner delivered our food and she then she stopped to ask if everything was okay. my mom then requested refills of the drinks and i requested a soda water. we then began to notice that she was tending to the other tables around us but not once did she stop to check on our table. she never offered refills or checked to see if there was anything that we needed. while eating we needed napkins and had to ask another server passing by if she could grab our server. our server had just tended to the two tables beside us but never stopped to check in on us. towards the end of the meal my mom became frustrated and asked for a manager. the server stated that there wasn’t a manager and that there wasn’t anything she could do. my mom then asked the host was there a manager and she stated that the owners were gone for the day. my mom explained to the host that the server was very inattentive to our table in particular and it made her feel uncomfortable, and unwanted in the restaurant. my mom then explained that she felt she was being treated unfairly because she was a black woman, and we were the only table of black women in the restaurant. it was very unfortunate because the food and atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing! the server was just inconsiderate and inattentive to our table only. my mom spoke with the host and she was able to give us a $15 gift card and she also apologized greatly, however it just didn’t take away from the fact that we’re were given poor service. Very traumatic experience for a family out to eat at a...
Read moreMy husband and I drive thru here nearly every week and we decided to try something new. We immediately were greeted by, Mckaylee, who asked us where we would prefer to sit. We literally wandered around a bit and we decided to sit at the bar. She was so nice and small chatted about her new baby girl that was due very soon. As soon as we sat down we were taken care of by Devin. She helped us order and told us what her favorite’s were! We were surprised to see it was BOGO beers, we indulged! We had fried green tomatoes and bronzed shrimp with homemade remoulade sauce and hush puppies. Haven’t had them since my grandmother passed and it took me back, they were delicious! We ordered a side of praline bacon out of curiosity and OH MY GOSH! To die for! We both had burgers that were cooked perfectly. We will for sure be back! Try the mustard greens, you won’t find them like this anywhere else!
Devin was so nice and made sure she took very good of us. She knew what we needed before we did! Made a new friend today, those are the best lunch stops.
Don’t forget to get some sugar cookies! Reminds you of Christmas, the very best! We will be back every time we...
Read moreOrdered a made-to-order omlette with grits and a biscuit. I also got the praline bacon and a cup of coffee. My husband and son ordered the seafood omlette. The food was delicious! Keep in mind when ordering the praline bacon that you only get 2 slices, and it is very sweet (but delicious). The grits were creamy and seasoned very well. The biscuit was homemade, harder on outside and softer on inside. My omlette was cooked perfectly. The coffee is stronger than what I prefer, but many creamers and sweeteners later, tasted fine. I will definitely be back to try different dishes.
Keep on mind that you are charged a bit extra when you use a debit/credit card. We were charged $2.18 more using a debit card. It would have been nice to be aware of the upcharge upon arrival. It wasn't much, but just the point of not knowing until you...
