Update: Dear Chocolate Box your response to my Review is incorrect you have me confused w someone else bc I have NEVER posted a Review b4 under any other name. & yes we have purchased on several occasions. Plz get your facts & unpleased customers straight. Our future business will be w Scoops so no further worries. Have a Happy Holiday Season.
I've been in this place a few times & made several purchases & told others abt the store so sent plenty of business as we come into contact w alot of ppl around this area. I've spent abt $100 here on treats. Not a ton of $ but a good bit for treats, in my opinion. Anyway at our last visit I brought friends in to visit & purchase as well. There are Samples out w cupcake liners to sample. They aren't covered or anything & we usually don't Sample much anywhere but since this is a small establishment I went ahead so we could decide. One of my children is medically fragile & we didn't allow him to Sample bc of his health conditions & the Samples just being open & uncovered. Anyway...there we were Sampling things before we purchased just to see what we were going to buy bc there are several Samples out & by Sampling I mean very tiny pcs. My children had their own $ for the treats they wanted & I did not allow them to Sample alone. Between the 5 ppl in our group we had 3 tiny Samples less than the size of a quarter in ONE cupcake liner. As we were getting ready to decide what we wanted to purchase we were told a bit harshly that Samples are only for FIRST time visitors. There were No Signs or Anything informing us beforehand & the general public usually assumes Samples are available for anyone at any time as a courtesy. So confusing here. I've asked others after this experience to see their opinions & they felt the same as I. Your thoughts? If I had known abt the Samples Rule, the FIRST time in, we would've Sampled a bit more to know what we liked here but we didn't know bc No Signs & we weren't told after we spent $47 our first visit. We also wouldn't have Sampled the tiny pieces this visit. We felt scolded, embarrassed & ashamed for Sampling & this, in front of other customers. We wouldn't have Sampled anything had we known it was such a Big Deal for such tiny Samples when you are going to spend a good bit of $ on treats. We left without purchasing anything & went to Scoops on the square instead, where my children, I & our friend spent $54. We were allowed Samples there even tho we have been there 646 times. Sadly, we won't be going back to this establishment. And if Samples are such a Big Deal I would suggest just discontinuing it altogether OR posting signs abt the Sample Rules. This small act could prevent losing business over something so petty. It wasn't that we couldn't Sample, at all, no. It was the attitude & treatment at the time of the visit. Esp to my child who ate a small Sample I gave. She had Sample Guilt but I let her know it's not usual that way abt Samples & that it's still ok to Sample elsewhere. Needless to say I hope Sample Stinginess is worth losing 5 loyal customers for life. Maybe I'm petty or something but I'm saddened that we were treated that way over something so silly that we didn't know & felt was a courtesy for customers no matter if it was their first time or 646th time. I guess we know now, but to prevent customers feeling this way a small sign would remedy it if Samples are of utmost importance to this establishment. I rarely EVER leave a poor Review as I have been a small business owner & know how important customers are. Best of Luck to this place as we loved it before the Sample Shaming. And I hope this review helps others to avoid feeling confused, embarrassed or ashamed abt the Samples. Happy Sampling to FIRST time guests if you visit. Thanks for reading my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMiss Daisy's excellent personal service and smile plus delicious confections makes this place a must go for filling your sweet tooth! I loved the chocolate covered coconut caramel cookies (think of those seasonal favorites that are sold door-to-door only a cut above!) I also had some salty dogs and peppermint bark. Miss Daisy told me that she tries to sell that one only during the holidays but her regular customers won't let her! So they are available year-round. The salty dogs are wonderful salty chips and pretzels and roped in chocolate! Everything was absolutely delicious and I polished them all off before I even considered taking pictures of them. But I'll save the visual for when you show up at this place and look at them. She also keeps chocolate covered strawberries around and many other confections including peanut butter cups that apparently are hazardous and some former fashion but I'll let her tell you about them! I'll see you again soon Miss Daisy and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen you walk in thereās just multiple kitchen tables everywhere. With uncovered open taste test jars for a few items. Itās set up like someoneās kitchen. Then the counters all the way in the back but you wonāt make it there. We went to go walk around and see what was there. First time in. An as soon as I went to go use the first sample spoon she walked over and said please donāt touch Iāll handle the samples for you. But they are everywhere and thereās no signs saying donāt touch. It was so awkward. I wanted to check it out to support a small business but just donāt youāll go in and get yelled at immediately for just following the flow of the store. If you donāt want people tasting or touching put it behind the counter. An it wasnāt clean some of the tables looked untouched in a...
