Horrible experience ordering my Son's First Birthday cake from here. The cake was delivered late, well after the party started and cake was not as we discussed. I was given no apologies that day but was given excuses and attitude saying they were doing the best they could. I had to excuse myself from my guests to try and track down where they were and why cake was not delivered and they were still at the store. I was crying and had to compose myself. Then when cake finally arrived I was not at all happy with how the cake looked. It's a big deal- Your Babies First Birthday. I was made to feel like it wasn't important to them. My Sister-in-law had to leave the party and go to the store to get strawberries to put on cake as there should have been already just to make the cake look more decent. I told Suzanne (The owner) on Friday- 2 days before party I did not need writing on cake just strawberries as discussed previously. The writing on the cake looked like a child wrote it. Very upsetting and a waste of money. I bought two cakes from a different place for party guests only and ended up using for photos. I am glad I planned ahead or else that would have made what...

I discovered Powerhouse Bakery yesterday. As someone who is gluten sensitive, I have tried many gluten free products over the years but haven’t been very satisfied. Breads, in particular, tend to be dry and dense, or gritty and crumbly. My experience at Powerhouse was distinctly different. The young man who assisted me said that they were temporarily out of focaccia and their other breads, but that they would have some later that day. (They bake bread in small batches to achieve the best results.) He gave me a sample of their rolls, which I would give 5 stars for texture. (I would give the flavor 3 stars—it was made with teff flour, which I don’t care for because of the sour taste.) I also sampled a chocolate cupcake. It did not appeal to my taste; the cake was a bit dense and dry, and it tasted more like coconut than chocolate. The frosting was delicious, though. And (saving the best for last) if you go there, you have to try the chocolate chip cookies. They are moist, chewy, sweet and delectable—every bit as good as Tollhouse, but way more nutritious! I plan to go back soon to buy some focaccia bread and some of their...

I have only had one baked good from this bakery and it was an amazing cookie so my review of the baked goods is a little one sided.

What I have had is over 2 weeks of meal prep meals. I assume they started doing it because of the Crossfit Gym that is go close. Regardless I am very happy they did.

I have tried all of the meal prep and meal service places in San Antonio, by all of them I literally mean all of them and this is hand down the best. Powerhouse Bakery does not rely on heavy seasoning to cover up the flavors of the food. The food is actually good, like it was cooked by my wife and I am just heating it up. It is very healthy and perfect portions for making a meal plan with.

I almost selfishly did not write this review due to the fact if their meal prep orders increase it might be hard to keep the quality. I am writing the review though because Suzanne deserves the feedback and I need to do what I can to ensure they stick around and keep making amazing...

Always looking for vegan bakeries because of allergies. I came across this business and wanted to try. We thought it was a bit pricey but didn't care cause "if it's good it's worth it". Unfortunately, it was NOT WORTH it. My salad was very smelly like it was bad and the veggies in salad seemed and smelled very old. The sandwich that came with salad smelled funky but when I started to pick out the green onions turns out the chicken was purple. I thought it had purple onion, my deal breaker, but no purple onions were found. So... I did not eat that either because maybe it was not good and getting sick is not my priority. So $12.90 to the trash. The only thing we liked were the power oats that come prepacked (to make at home) and the bread, cup cakes and donuts. So... If you visit this place stick to sweets. I am sure I am not coming back.

AMAZING!!! The cake they made for my dads special day was DELICIOUSNESS in a cake!! I wish I would have taken a side view. My dad is retired Army and they made it the perfect shade or green/camo for him. They took the time to sit and listen to what we needed especially with my dads dietary needs. Most cakes from the store he can’t eat but he was so excited to get this one that was made Just for him. We will be coming here from now on for birthday cakes. 70 is a special age and we are blessed to have my dad with us this long and they made the day even sweeter with this cake.

Positives: cake was delicious, everyone at my wedding liked it, ONLY bakery in town willing to make gluten free AND dairy free cake Negatives: Baker took poor notes, asked for coconut flavor in cake and frosting but feels like they left it out. We wanted a two tier cake but got a quad level of cake. Wedding was months ago and I am still munch my way through cake and running daily to shave off the pounds. Otherwise was a delicious cake. The owner/baker and everyone we interacted with was very nice. Will be there again fornour future gluten dairy free needs
