Crafton Ice Cream Delite — Restaurant in Crafton

VERY disappointed! We’ve been wanting to try their ice cream for quite some time now … stopped in tonight and spent $36.00 on a banana split, and 4 sundaes.. ( soft serve).. It was horrid , icy .. NO flavor, melted within minutes … we ended up with pretty much white looking water in our sundae containers… and the whipped cream made an odd looking texture floating in it . DEFINITELY not ‘Ice CREAM’ in my opinion .. We did get a refund, but all of our stomachs felt nauseous and we had cramps within 15- 20 minutes. The girl that served us mentioned maybe the machine needs cleaned out ?! My son told her he’s been going there for years and he said it used to taste good and have a creamy texture.. and that they definitely changed something.. the lady was nice that took our order .. I like that it’s an old fashioned walk up window place. .. nostalgic. Lots of food choices… (we only had the ice cream) .. SAD, as this could be a really great gem … BUT.. Sorry , .. will NOT take another chance here. Worst I’ve ever had …. Hands down . *

• UPDATE.. one year later we decide to try ice cream here again … it’s not any better .. it’s ICE MILK . If you want creamy ice cream … it’s not here sadly …. Also .. .50 charge to use your credit...

Hit or miss experiences. It has really gone downhill this year. But it’s still ice cream.

-UPDATE- A year later, somehow this place has gotten even worse. We ordered a single scoop of hard ice cream with hot fudge and a small frozen yogurt with peanut butter. The total seemed surprisingly high at $14.28. When asked, the employee explained that they price the ice cream as a sundae because there was a topping added. Then on top of the sundae price they upcharge for hard ice cream and frozen yogurt. So a $3.75 scoop of ice cream ends up being $7.05 when you add hot fudge. Make it make sense. At minimum the owner needs to be more transparent about pricing on the menu, but this is honestly the most nonsensical pricing model I have ever encountered. How does adding hot fudge almost double the price?

At that price they could afford to give customers some napkins without everyone having to ask for them.

This all happened after we waited 30+ minutes for a hoagie and an order of fries (on a separate receipt, not the one in the photo).

I don’t think I can give this place any more chances. Crafton ice cream DELETE...

Have an extensive menu of both food and ice cream, both hard and soft. Some fun and interesting specialty sundaes as well. We used to love coming here, but I feel they changed their soft serve mix at some point in the last couple of years. Last 3 times I've come, it's very watery and melts instantly. Not creamy at all, like just some whitish/clear liquid in the bowl after it melts. Very unsatisfying, as it's just watery soup before you can even finish it. Unfortunately, 3 times in a row over 2 summers can't be an accident, so feel this is just the poor quality soft serve they sell now. Shame. Won't be coming back for it. If you stick with the hard ice cream you might be ok. Tonight's trip we got the peanut butter overload, which was smaller than ever for $8.50.
