Portofino's Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Crafton

My Children and I were walking to the Grocery Store, when my oldest son saw the Pizza Sign and immediately wanted some.. Now being a single mother of four, if one gets some they all want some. Being that this was our first time walking through the Neighbor, I had not added the extra cost of Pizza in my oh so limited budget.. My son went in twice and asked for the cost of a Medium Pizza, when he came out and told me the price I had to calculate if I would have enough.. So I said son "go back in and ask how much for a small". So he came back and it was a lower cost. Now in my mind I could probably use the change from the Groceries I should have enough. We continued to the Grocery Store and got what was needed.. In actuality I didn't have enough because I knew my son wanted a haircut for his first day of school.. He said "Mom it's OK I don't have to get my hair cut,We rather have Pizza. I said I'll budget it in to get some clippers then I just do it.. We all understood and the five of us went into the Pizza Shop.. Now remember I had just enough for a small Pizza. We ordered a small Pepperoni Pizza, double cut.. 😜 Even though it equals out to be the same amount of slices.. To the children they always feel like they are getting more slices.. We all sit down and proceeded to get water cups. Of course I couldn't afford any drinks. But we always make do. As the Pizza came the children were hungry, they all sat around the table and was eager and excited to try out this new Pizza Shop. I sat next to them watching them eat and enjoy this little meal. As I sit and turn down their offers for a slice, I said no you guys eat.. Not to long an Employee walked over to an older gentleman and spoke to him softly.. The employee came and asked if I liked mushroom 🍄 Pizza I said "sure". Shortly after the same Employee came to the table with a Half of Mushroom and Cheese Pizza, and set it on my Table.. I look up at her with such Thank full.. As a Human Being she noticed that I was not eating.. She felt compassion and made sure that I ate, also brought a liter of Coca-Cola to the table. The Kids were Enjoying the Pizza at this point with the water. So when This Employee cam to the table with the Soda they lit up.. When you enter an establishment we expect great treatment because it is there business. Unfortunately most business don't do that. This staff exhibited Human kindness that made our day.. It's the Little things that matter in Life. This staff was great in taking a further step to help out a customer.. Not only was the Pizza Great the atmosphere was great also. I recommend this as a stopping point if you are in town, or just your everyday delivery service. And yes they also deliver.. Make it a point to stop by. I just ordered an extra large pizza and wings from this place and the pizza arrived cold due to the fact that it was cold outside and they obviously don’t provide bags to their delivery drivers for transport. A piece of the pizza was missing and when I shared this information with the owner, he offered up an excuse that the pizza gets stuck to the pan sometimes and the best he could do was a free slice of pizza, but no more than that. In response to it being cold upon arrival, I was told “Well, it’s cold outside”! I’ve been a faithful customer and that didn’t appear to mean anything! Not that he cared, I ended our conversation with “This is the last time I’ll be ordering”!

Response to Owner: I am confused. Why all of the lies? There were no options given by you to me! Customer Service was beyond poor! I spent close to $50 between food and tip, after being a loyal customer and the only thing I expected was to be treated as such! And the only response I got was a free slice of pizza adding that was the best you could do! And that was when I responded letting you know I would never be ordering there again and ended the call. Your responses surrounding the cold pizza was “It’s cold outside”! And missing piece of pizza “The oven gets so hot the pie gets stuck to the pan”!)to my concerns. I’ve never even complained after all of the prior times I’ve received cold pizza continuing to be a faithful customer with no complaints! Ordered for delivery. I’m not sure if this place is under new management. However, we have been ordering from this place for over two years. Today I called in with a complaint of the crest missing from my pizza and they told me that basically they could send me another slice of pizza or come pick up the pizza that they delivered and deliver another pizza. I am highly DISGUSTED and Disappointed in this Trifling place. The owner sounded like they were on drugs, and I do feel as though this place should be inspected. Especially if they feel that it is OK for a delivery driver or even for their own staff to deliver a pizza with crust that’s not on the whole pizza. After giving them a reasonable tip as well, which I did request back and he said the only two options were a credit for a large pizza or another large pizza to be delivered. I will be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau. Reply to owner, there was no mention of a refund. There was 2 options get another pizza or get a credit for another pizza. After I repeated I will be leaving a review. You also offered my mother a slice of pizza. In regard to the disgusting situation. Anyone who has been a loyal customer for as long as she has should have been addressed way different. You were hung up on because you chose not to fix the situation.
