China Inn Crawfordsville — Restaurant in Crawfordsville

I have loved China Inn since I was a kid! Tonight, my husband, our child and I ate in the dining room (This is the first time our family has sat down in a restaurant in all of 2020, due to Covid-19)! We each had soup, followed up by sushi. We enjoyed being able to take our time between each of those. We also ordered crab rangoon and general tso's chicken. [Our order for this did get skipped over (but we could see that they were CRAZY BUSY) but we weren't in a hurry at all and did not even mention to the staff that we had not yet gotten our entree.] Our waiter, was extremely polite and hospitable! He realized that our entree should've been to us already and got it to us extremely quick!!! [But, I could see that he was being pulled in MANY different directions...(though, he still SHINED!)] Seems like the restuarant is a bit understaffed (but this definitely could be because of Covid-19?), however, my family did have a wonderful experience tonight and all of the staff that we encountered...

We were the first ones there out of everyone there (not that many people) and we were the last ones served and no one in that place got everything they ordered, they kept giving people and us items that we didnt order. The food wasnt that great. Some was cooked way too long. The only good thing that was edible was the shrimp sushi thing, the margarita and the fries. It wasnt even that crowded (maybe 3 tables including ours i think) and they acted like it was packed. Id understand a little more if it was but it wasn't. It was slow. And the people behind us were waiting an hour for something that another table who arrived after them got. Which was the pork lo mein. They said that they want it to go because it was already taking so long. They dont use the right noodles for lo mein either. It was ridiculous. Definitely a huge...

The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was what you’d expect—nothing remarkable but perfectly fine. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed everything else. My waitress, Charlotte, was not only inattentive but also incredibly unprofessional. At one point, she had a full-on meltdown in the middle of the dining area, yelling at her coworkers in a way that disrupted the entire experience. It’s clear that she struggles with the responsibilities of her role, and her behavior left a lasting negative impression. I would strongly suggest management reconsider how staff like Charlotte impact the overall...
