Little Mexico — Restaurant in Crawfordsville

I Liked it so much I went back twice!!!

I had the pleasure of stopping into Little Mexico during business trip to the area. I had heard about it from the staff at the Best Western Crawfordsville (See my Review). This local spot serves great food, its very colourful and staff there are fantastic. From the moment I sat down to time I left I was treated very well. The server took his time to go through the menu with me, and although the offerings are quite substantial, I decided on the classic Carne Asada, with an ice cold Carta Blanca. The meal came with fresh homemade nachos with hot and mild salsa, beans, rice avocado and the server added shrimp to my meal as well. Everything on plate was juicy, flavourful and tender. The sides very good as well. This is a family run restaurant and since they treat you like a family member there, my portion size was huge. I was travelling all day with little time to eat, so the size was prefect, and i somehow managed to finish it all.

I was so impressed with dinner that I went back the next day for lunch. Still reeling from the previous nights exception dinner, I had no choice but to go for lighter fare. The good news is even at lunch, if you ask you can dinner size portions. This time however i went for a lighter meal. For Lunch I had the Chimichanga de Camarone. The portion size good for lunch, and the meal itself was very fresh and easy. If I'm ever in Crawfordsville in the future, I will be having at least...

We did not have a good experience here. The chips had a funny aftertaste and they salsa bowl was barely filled with salsa, (which was mediocre salsa). When the waitress came to take away dirty chip and salsa dishes, she only took the left side of table’s empty dishes and never got the ones on the right side. The ice tea was watery and so were the Cokes. All of us ended up not feeling well, one even to the point of us throwing up. Finding a parking space was terrible and hard to find. The service was very poor and hardly even came to us. The people who got seated after us ended up finishing and leaving by the time we got our food. The person who brought us our food looked and sounded tipsy. However, when it came to decorations, this place was great! It was very colorful and creative and shows me this place has potential. But from our experience, we see no effort. They’ve lost one customer. Never coming...

This place was a big disappointment. Had my mother my wife and myself not a one of us was happy. When we first got there my wife had to use the bathroom she is handicap so I help her to the bathroom and wait outside the door till she's done as I was waiting I observed to make employees making out with another male employee. We ordered queso cheese in a bowl it was like water so we asked for a different bowl the manager who was very nice and professional got us another bowl said that if we didn't like it we would not have to pay for it after tasting it did not have a very good flavor to it and it was still running and watery like the first bowl so we let the manager know we did not have to pay for it.
