McDonald's — Restaurant in Crawfordsville

Went to this store recently coming back from a trip. It was clean and seemed understaffed.

On my way to the restrooms I overheard a group pulling out their food and they realized they were short a set of fries and sent someone from their group to go get the extra set.

I used the restroom and it was clean and looked like it had been updated recently.

When I went to order there was someone with their drink standing there. He seemed like a regular and like he was talking or waiting to talk to one of the employees. The employee was talking about how some of the people working were nice and came in because there was only like two of the employees who came in today. The young man sent to get the missing fries was still in line and I was behind him. Eventually, someone came to take care of the counter and they quickly got him fresh fries. I had to wait a little bit but someone eventually came to take my order.

The individual who took my order couldn't tell me if they had decaffeinated tea or not. I don't fault the person for not knowing, most don't.

Once my order was placed, the food came out relatively quickly, my order was accurate, and it was hot.

When I went outside to get back to my car, I saw the same employee who was talking to the regular earlier now talking to the individual outside.

The star loss is for no one attending the counter (the only employees near the front were doing drive thru). Also, for talking to what seemed like the regular when there were other customers to be waited on. Otherwise, the staff was kind and seemed a bit overwhelmed. Overall, just your average McDonald's.

This place should be condemned. Clearly the board of health has no presence in this town. We stopped last night while traveling back home. First, the girl taking the order in the drive-thru would not stop hacking into her microphone - over and over again. I’m still kicking myself for not driving away right then. The hag doesn’t talk when we get to the window other than to say she cannot find everything for the order so we’re asked to pull forward and wait. I had to go inside because she forgot to give me my card back. I would have fell walking in the door due to the amount of water everywhere if I did not have cat-like reflexes. The inside was filthy. The dining room was littered with trash. The kitchen area looked like a third world country. The girl apparently responsible for the trash was drinking and leaning on the counter. Another little boy was just standing like a statue next to counter as if I interrupted his conversation with the hag. The rest of the employees were in stop and stare mode. Had to wait over 3 minutes at the ordering speaker before I could order. Even then I had to say hello excuse me before being waited on. I waited another 7 minutes in line before I got my order. Keep in mind it is 4:30 A.M. and there were a total of 3 cars in line.

No greeting or sorry for your wait at any point. I left and opened my bag and it was the wrong order. Turned around and went back and was told to pull to the window. When I got there the attendant said "What did you want?" that was it no other offer of apology or even a friendly greeting. I told her my correct order handed her back the wrong sandwich which she promptly raised her arm straight out and dropped (into a garbage can I assume but it might have been just straight onto the floor). I asked her how long it would be and she rolled her eyes and shut the window without answering me.
