It is certainly not a fancy hotel and I knew that going into it. It’s a bit pricey for what you get, though (maybe it’s just because it’s Labor Day weekend and everywhere is pricey right now). The showers have great water pressure. The kind woman working at the front desk was incredibly sweet and accommodating. It’s a short walk to Taco Bell. The bed is decently comfortable and the room is pretty clean. Only major complaint is the lack of A/C on a hot evening. Not really anything that can be done about that but maybe having the option for a fan in the window would be nice! I know getting 50+ fans for the hotel isn’t easy, but it sure would make the room much, much better. Sleeping when it’s hot in the room is very uncomfortable. It’s not really a great location to have the door or window open at night to let a breeze in due to how sketchy the area is. So, I’d suggest not staying here in the summer if you can help it. There is heat for the wintertime, though. Overall, it’s a pretty fine place and provides a bed for the night so I can’t...
Read moreWe stopped in Crescent City during our road trip and booked this motel last minute, as there were no Marriott options left. Even though all our other hotels on this trip were booked last minute too, this ended up being the most expensive stay by far – over $200 for a basic motel.
Unfortunately, it felt like a poor value. The room had an unpleasant smell, the parking didn’t feel secure, and there were absolutely no amenities. For a motel that old and basic, unless you’re in a major city with a big event driving up demand, the price was unreasonable. Honestly, I would have rather stayed elsewhere or driven to another town.
Still not a one star, with the area of improvement— that a small family business can do, keeping it clean, putting some gates, making parking secure, and may be some gardening around, nice painting, working in rooms, nice towels, bed sheets- count definitely turn around, and bring positive feedback from customer. So, even though it’s 2-3 star experience, with small business in mind,...
Read moreSmall town close to the Redwood National Park so don't be surprised when you can find 5-Star lodging. The town is checkered with little motel styles places so this one came as no big surprise that it is a simple accommodation. So for those budget minded people, this could be the place for you. For those that are used to staying at a Marriott Residence Inn or wanting a little more amenities, you could be disappointed.
From the naked eye, the room looks clean, but when you take a closer look, one can surmise a little more TLC (tender, loving, care) is needed. Rooms aren't updated and shows signs of wear and tear.
Shower- the water is nice and hot with a strong water flow! Nice amenity if you like to take long showers. Toilet was a slow flow so a big BM would concern me for backing up the plumbing.
TV- worked good enough.
View- not available as it is on the main strip and only two floors.
Beds are not very comfortable and pillows are...
