Catfish - Chicken, Sandwich, Gyros & More — Restaurant in Crest Hill

My first time trying this place. I was expecting some hope it would be good. My first impression as you walk in the door was very dirty looking. They have few tables to eat in but the tables are not in Good shape. Most of the menu are deep fried food. I ordered a chicken wings which came with fries. Wings are a bit salty for my taste. I wanted to put some sauce on it but the bottles they had sauce was dirty so I didn't use them especially during today's world. Fries are chewy and cold when I got them Luke it was sitting out all day. Overall in my opinion it's a one those restaurants that you were curious to try it and it turned out to be ONCE was enough and don't need to try it again. The guy at the front wasn't very friendly either like he didn't care. It took ever it seems to get my drink after I ordered the food. Wings I ordered took about 20 minutes to get it. Ceaser greeted me pleasantly and immediately upon entering this well lit and clean store. I was impressed with him opening each box of my order for me to see the contents of each order prior to bagging all three. All the fish and shrimp were perfectly cooked golden brown. I had a 3pc catfish fillet dinner, 9pc Jumb Shrimp dinner and a 2pc (Whole wing not wing pieces) sampler. Both dinners contained ample cups of sauces, generous fries and bread. The batter (coating) was very light much to my liking and the catfish offered ample size tender filets. Both the catfish and shrimp were delicious and I will return for more. Haven't tried the chicken wings yet but I certain they are just as good. Edit, December 2020: online ordering was a big miss. They never received my order, had to wait in the parking lot while they made it, and yet when I got home it was somehow cold. The past 3 times I’ve gone, the fish has been pretty bad, the breading was really wet. My fries were very cold and very soggy, tasted like the back of a freezer. I don’t think I plan on going back for a while.

June 2020: Portions are MASSIVE. Called in to order, the girl over the phone was incredibly polite and friendly.
