King Buffet — Restaurant in Crete

This place is literally a hole in the wall spot, but I thought to give it a chance since it was highly rated on Google. We arrived around 530pm. When we walked in, there was one family there - just as I was about to walk out, I was greeted from the back of the establishment by a gentleman. We were quickly seated, so I decided to stay. As I approached the buffet, I noticed the some of the food had not been replenished so I asked for the staff to add more. The burners must not have been turned up as some of the food was cold which made me go back to get a different selection as the staff went in the back to get more food, I supposed, but disappeared from view. Have you ever felt yourself getting sick from food poisoning?

I have no idea why this place is highly rated. This was a waste of money, a waste of time and I regret coming here.

The hot tables were more like luke warm tables and the food coming from them was just barely warm.

All of the food was slimy and probably sitting out for hours. That’s how it tasted at least.

The veggies were soggy and not crisp, the meat was funky and my favorite, teriyaki chicken looked more like red cardboard.

There were children going in and out of the kitchen.

When I walked in, the worker said, “how many?”, dropped off the menu and said “what to drink?” That was all of the interaction until I paid to leave.

There were handwritten signs everywhere and the place just gave me a gross feeling.

HORRIBLE!! Steam table not turned on for buffett, majority of few items stone cold. Waiter filled my iced tea several times but TOTALLY ignored my boyfriend's nearly empty glass every time. When asked for a refill, another waitstaff slid a 1/2 full glass without making eye contact. Lucky her aim was good or else glass would be on floor. Dessert area had a few dry slices of oranges, some odd dry cake and not much else despite many empty trays that were never refilled. Thought that a Saturday night, staff would think to keep items stocked. Buffet is advertised as $10, I feel I deserve 100% refund. Plan to tell all of my friends to AVOID this place at all cost!!!! Will be lucky if we don't get sick...
