**The Floor wait staff and the Grill Cooks do not split tips. For the cooks, tips go in a wooden box at the end of the grill line and the tip for your server is given when you pay your bill or left at the table. If you only leave a tip on a credit/debit card, only your wait staff will get it. Try to make a trip to tip the grill if you enjoyed your food.** Update 8/2024: After the pandemic had the doors closed at HuHot for far too long, I went back to see how everything is, post-apocalypse… I also took people who had never eaten here before. If you can’t find your HuHot Rewards card, like me, it’s connected to your phone number so tell them to get your rewards! The food is fresh and still amazing. The current prices have gone up like everything else. Dinner Grill is $18. The appetizers and desserts went up some, but I didn’t pay close attention to see how much. I also did not see the lunch price but I would assume the same trend. New photos attached! Update 12/2016: The price for the all-you-can-eat grill is now quite high for lunch, coming in at $10.99. Dinner is $14.99 and drinks (soda, sweet or unsweetened tea, etc.) are $2.49. Drinks, items on the printed menu, appetizers, and desserts are extra. White or brown rice comes with your meal, and at dinner you also get a side salad with your meal. The Asian salad is great! I haven't tried the other salad because it didn't appeal to me. The desserts are delicious and the appetizers are too, but I haven't tried all of them yet. There are specials they run Sunday thru Thursday. I'll post a picture of the current 'Mongolian Nights' specials for your convenience. I also put up the list of the sauces so you can be prepared, and the HuHot Rewards program details (you to get a free appetizer when you sign up!) I still love coming here and will continue to do so, but maybe a little less frequently because of the price increase. That makes me sad... **Oh, and don't forget the tip jar for the cooks is at the end of the grill line and the tip for your server is either given when you pay your bill or left at the table...** Original post: Been coming to HuHot Mongolian Grill for a year or so now. Every experience has been a great one for the delicious food. It has been pretty consistent in that no matter what time of day we come, the food bar is fresh. I think there may have been one time when the bean sprouts didn't look the greatest (because the container was almost completely empty, which is a travesty, IMHO), but was quickly fixed after my kicking and screaming on the floor was finally acknowledged. The wait staff can be hit or miss as far as personality or just coming to the table to fill your drink. Since you get your own food except rice, appetizers and dessert (at an additional cost), it sometimes feels like you're left on your own. Not always, depending on the server. The grill crew seems to work pretty well together, but I'm not sure I've ever seen the same people cooking twice... Every once in a while they can be caught in some shenanigans round the grill, but many times they just chat amongst themselves. One thing I didn't get the first time I came was that the wait staff and the grill staff do NOT split tips. If you want to tip the cooks, drop it in their jar at the end of the grill bar. To tip your waitress, leave it on your table. The wait staff does not share tips at all. Don't plan on taking leftovers from the grill home, if you get full. They throw it away instead of sending it home with you. (Note to the starving: dinner is probably pretty good behind HuHot!) They will let you take your rice or anything you purchased separately though. This kind of bugs me, but I can kind of understand. Kinda... I like the food, the atmosphere, and that I get to make my favorite concoctions and variations for my meal. Dinner is pricey $$, lunch is a better deal $, and again, the dumpster in back is a bargain! (Seriously though, don't dumpster-dive. If you need help, call a local shelter or church!) I'll be back, but I think I'll shoot for lunch more often.

This place is great. Everything here is very tasty and I love the idea of being able to customize the flavors on every plate. It makes each trip unique. My personal favorite combo for the sauce is 3 scoops of Samurai Teriyaki and 3 of the Burn the Village. That’s an excellent combo. Burn The Village BBQ-BBQ sauce with just a tiny bit or heat. 4/5 Khan’s Favorite- this one is similar to the garlic for me. Not so much in flavor but just because it’s more of an accent sauce. Good and inoffensive but better as a mix. 3.5/5 MeSo Garlic- this one is fine. Not my favorite, but probably good as an accent. 3/5 Mongolian Sunburn- a nice citrus undertone combined with some subtle heat. Very well done. 4/5 Samurai Teriyaki- excellent teriyaki sauce 4/5

We live in SC and only get to eat here once a year when we visit family. This place is legit! Upon walking in and being seated, they take your drink order then the fun begins. You walk up to the raw bar where you pick your proteins, carbs, veggies, sauces, and spices. They have a few recipes to help you out on how to mix the sauces, or you can do your own thing like me. I never know what I do so I'm different every time. You get repeat visits so if you mess up the first time or want to try something different, you can. The food is fresh, and the excitement of picking your protein, veggies, seasoning, and sauces is awesome. If you're in the area and looking for a "Mongolian" style, fresh and just down right good, this is your place.

We fell in love with HuHot when we lived in Columbia, MO and found the Creve Coeur location when we moved to the area. We've been to this location several times before they closed during the pandemic. After their reopening, we've been here twice and unfortunately, it isn't what it used to be.

The buffet area remained the same except they no longer have eggs available (bye bye fried rice). The staff that stocked and cleaned the buffet area didn't seem to enjoy their job nor looked happy to be there.

My biggest problem were the food handling protocols of the grill warriors. Even if you don't have a specific allergy or diet concern, it isn't right to let customers food touch each other's. They weren't spacing them out at all, but rather trying to get as many meals on the grill as they could, even moving some piles where others were previously before cleaning. When the warriors carelessly placed a bowl's contents on the grill next to mine, the juices/sauces poured into my pile. It was left to blend together while the warriors worked around the grill. If I can't stand spicy and the next person got BurnYourVillageDown sauce, I wouldn't appreciate that flavor mixing into my dish. I wish they'd use separate grill tools for each meal, but only seemed to do that if you explicitly expressed "allergy or special dietary needs". Too bad I didn't get a picture of the grill issues to add to this review.

Cross contamination shouldn't be something you need to ask for by request.

My husband's dish got ruined when they were cleaning the grill around his pile of food. The warrior purposely squirted water on his pile because I guess the noodles were burning to the grill. The water effectively rinsed all the sauce from the meal and rendered it flavorless and soggy. I did notice some food bits on the clean bowls as well. Prices have also gone up a little bit recently. Two adults for the grill at lunch time was $30 (we had water!).

Very disappointed that it has gone downhill. HuHot was...

Huhot is an all you can eat Mongolian Grill with friendly staff. Price was a little high but for a niche restaurant it was okay, but won't be a restaurant I will frequent. With tip I spent $22 on my meal with no add-ons besides an unsweetened tea.

You start out by picking up two bowls fill one with meats and trimmings, and the other with noodles and veggies, douse the two of them in sauce and oil of your choice. Then proceed to the ring grill where your meal is cooked Infront of you.

Over all the quality of food is good, and the service is great. The restaurant lacks in the atmosphere department, usually when you walk into an Asian restaurant you can smell the food at the door, unfortunately that's not the case here. As well the decor feels dim.

One thing I'd like to stress there is a absolute ton of cross contamination going on with how the food bar is set up and how the Grill Masters operate the grill. While unintentional I couldn't recommend this place to someone with food allergies. The server did let us know if you do have an allergy they will sanitize a portion of the grill to prepare your meal separately, while helpful and shows effort on their part it's just not enough to negate the risk.

Over all it was a good meal to have with friends, I...
