Wow.. I cannot say enough good things about this yarn store! I was in town from Seattle visiting a STL local friend and on a whim decided to see what yarn stores were around when we had a free day. This was the closest one so we decided to stop in. Immediately we were greeted by the store manager (I am so bummed I did not get her name!). She gave us a little tour of the store (telling us how they sort their yarn, the special trunk shows they had going on, special & local yarn, etc) which was super thoughtful - I have never interacted with anyone in a yarn store who was as genuinely happy and excited to talk to customers and share info about the store! You can tell She was excited about the items they have in store and she enjoyed being there! After chatting with us, we explored on our own and she was available for any questions we had. I ended up getting some yarn and needles. They have a GREAT selection of yarn, needles and notions. If you are looking for something for yourself or even a gift for a fiber loving friend in your life the selection here is top notch!! I noticed there was also some sort of class going on too, and as I was checking out the manager pointed out stitch nights and other classes they have. It sounds like they have a great community of fiber folks here. I also love that they seem to have a lot of trunk shows from visiting/traveling dyers/creators. I was so so happy we stopped by on a whim!!
TL/DR: This yarn store is AMAZING! Great selection of everything you'd need or want. Store manager is one...

I’ve been visiting Yarncom for over a year now, and I have seen a dramatic improvement in my skills/knowledge as a result. I first walked into their temporary location at Chesterfield Mall in December 2022, a beginner knitter frustrated and confused by every project I started. Heather helped me choose the right tools and materials, and when I returned to the new location months later I was pleasantly surprised that she remembered me and she asked how I was doing with my project. I have gotten invaluable help from everyone at the shop, from technique skills to choosing the right yarn/needles for a project. Over the past year I have attended countless stitch groups, private lessons, knitting SOS, classes, and will frequently stop by for supplies or just a quiet place to work. Every single staff member has a wealth of knowledge, and they are not only patient and kind with questions, but they are all totally enthusiastic about teaching the art of crafting. This store is committed to creating an open, inclusive space to allow everyone to share their interests and work alongside each other. My skills as a knitter would not even be close to where I am today if Yarncom did not exist. I have made so many lovely connections here and always feel right at home walking in the door. Please support this amazing business, they are one...
Read moreOh my gosh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Yarncom! I was looking for a new hobby, and wanted to get into either crocheting or knitting. After doing a search, I discovered Yarncom and learned that they offer beginner classes on both! I signed up for the crochet class with Kristie, and I am SO glad I did. Kristie is a great teacher, and even though I was an absolute beginner, she was able to teach me how to crochet! She is so kind, warm, and patient. The other ladies in the class were also so kind and sweet.
Another thing I love about Yarncom are their open knit sessions. I attended one on Sunday, and it definitely won't be my last. The entire store is so warm and cozy, with lots of comfy seats to sit in. I felt right at home as I sat down with my project and started crocheting away. Before I knew it, I met some other ladies that were working on their projects and we just started chatting away! I can't wait to attend the next one. :)
I love love love this place so much, and I will absolutely be back. Highly...
