We decided to eat at McAlisters tonight. We like it because its fast but not "fast food", healthy compared to a lot of places, and a good price point. We have chose your establishment many, many times. Not sure we will again though.
Our kids like the Mac and Cheese and order it almost everytime. When we received our food, the 3 orders of Mac and Cheese were cold. We asked for it to be heated up. The employee took it back to be heated up. As we waited my wife looked at the bottom of the fruit side container to discover it is NOT microwave safe. Nor are any of the dishes used. When we received our 3 Mac and Cheeses back, it was so hot we knew that it had been microwaved. We asked the associate if had been microwave in those dishes. SHRUG, "Not sure". I said that it shouldn't have been and why and got the response "that's disturbing". But as we sat there she did not bring out any others as if we should still let our kids eat the food anyways. A few minutes went by so I took them back to the counter, asked for 3 new ones not heated in a to go containers. At this time it was still hot enough that it burned the cashier twice as she tried to take them to the back. I was basically hushed by the counter employees because once I started explaining why this wasn't ok, customers had looks of disgust about it. Of course they don't want other customers to hear about it. Is attitude acceptable in that case?? When we got those we asked if they had just scooped what I brought back into the to go containers and she said "NO". Although the containers were hotter that the originals that were brought out in the very beginning. We asked to speak with a manager. When he came out he was confused about what the big deal was. "That's how we heat things up, Yes we do it all the time, No I didnt know that chemicals leech into the food, never heard of that." We ask for his manager's phone number and excuse after excuse why he wouldn't give it out. When we asked when he worked again, "I don't when that will be." We gave him my wife's number on a napkin. Pretty sure we won't get a call and it's more likely it got thrown out once he went to the back of the house.
As stunned by his reaction as we were, It's more concerning that most of the customers that eat Mac and Cheese are kids. How can at this day and age of BPA free containers, concerns of GMO foods, and more people being health conscience, how does this slip through the cracks?? VERY DISAPPOINTED...
Read moreSince the corporate office refuses to help us and the manager WILLIAM refused to give us the name of the general manager, let me tell you about the experience me and my mother experienced at this location.
We went in to get a takeout order a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday and was helped by a young lady who had her first day. At first, she rang out our order incorrectly and then had another cashier resolve the issue. My whole family works in restaurants, so we were not bothered by the minor inconvenience, this is where it starts....
Although there were only about five people in the restaurant at this time, our food took about 15 minutes to bring out. We checked our food before we left because it felt light and sure enough we were missing half our order. We walked over to the manager and explained the situation, and it took him a few minutes to figure out exactly what we were missing. Then, instead of fixing the order right away, he proceeds to spend another five minutes or so doing other things around the restaurant while half of our order is sitting there on the counter getting cold. This is when we thought if we even wanted the food anymore,
Once the manager WILLIAM finally fixes the order, he tells us that he really doesn't appreciate the way we treated his employees. Let it be said that we never spoke to any other employees and made sure that the cashier knew we were not upset by what happened. He was simply just a manager with an ego that was trying to pass on blame to others while he has no sense of urgency.
We asked for our money back, which he gave us (he also didn't realize that he gave us too much money out of the register). When my mother asked who the manager was, he said his name was WILLIAM and that he was the manager. When she asked for the general manager's name, he told us to have a nice day (as if we couldn't find out on our own).
I know that writing reviews like this online won't help the situation and I know that many people love eating here given their high rating, but I hope this reaches out to many of you. We...
Read moreFirst time visiting this location. It was my husband and I, and we ordered the Pecan Berry Salad, and the choose 2 which included a 1/2 Southwest salad and a 1/2 plain spud. They forgot the dressing for the Southwest Salad, so we had to go back up and ask for it. The Pecan Berry Salad was just sad looking compared to what it usually looked like at other locations. It was really small and scraggly. Something seemed off about it, but I couldn't quite place it until I was halfway through with it...they forgot to put the grilled chicken on it! A protein that comes standard with the salad! 🤦♀️ No wonder I was still feeling hungry! I went up again and told them about it and they gave me a cup of grilled chicken to add to the salad myself. 😳😅 This was the weirdest and disappointing McAlister's visit ever. Staff was cordial to be sure, but the food and quality control was subpar.
Another concern is the bright green sludge draining from their building into the parking lot. 🤔 It hadn't rained in a long time, so it wasn't the result of that. It weaved around quite a few parking spots, so we ended up jumping over it to get to the sidewalk. It was concerning...
Unfortunately, I don't think we will waste our time to return to this location. We will continue with our...
