Dat Jerk Crofton — Restaurant in Crofton

We recently catered side dishes from Dat Jerk in Crofton to complement other entrées for my husband’s milestone birthday, and everything was a hit! Our order included cabbage, rice and peas, mac and cheese, and both beef and jerk chicken patties. Every dish was delicious, but the mac and cheese was the crowd favorite—several guests raved that it was some of the best they’d ever had -- it was also kid tested and approved!

The half-pan portions were nicely packaged in aluminum pans with lids inside sturdy cardboard boxes, making transport very easy. Some of our guests had never tried Jamaican food before, and this was a great introduction for them. We will definitely be ordering again—Dat Jerk was a cost-effective way to supplement other prepared or catered dishes, allowing us to host with less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying the celebration with family...

I’ve never been to an establishment that didn’t offer dark meat because they were trying to “get rid of” the white meat. When I asked how long it would be if i wanted to wait for dark meat and the answer was “hours”. Considering the fact that I traveled 20 mins to eat here, I decided not to leave empty handed and got the white meat jerk chicken. Overall the food was tasty and the portions were big so I wasn’t disappointed but I would’ve appreciated being able to order what I wanted. At other locations I’ve been to, they ask what kind of sauces I wanted on/with my food but they didn’t ask. When I asked the cashier if they put jerk sauce on my food, I was told yes but they clearly didn’t. I’ll probably give them another try the next time I’m in the mood for Caribbean food. Where do I start..gheesh..we were greeted at the door by Happy who not only had such a great welcoming personality but was incredibly knowledgeable about the food. She was so patient because this was our first visit so we had some questions. I got the tropical chicken, beans & rice and stir fried veggies. Hubby got the tropical chicken with the veggies and the mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese is super delish. Got a side of potato salad and plantains to try. They were delish as well. We were given samples of the brown stew chicken which I will definitely be getting next visit. The restaurant was very clean, food was fresh, hot & plentiful.
