Read moreMy family and I went into the Crofton location on Mother's Day to have some dinner around 5:50pm. As we entered the restaurant, we noticed people sitting outside eating and walked into the host stand. My wife stood there for about 30 sec to a minute while 3 or 4 hosts were at the front talking to each other without acknowledging us. I went to have a seat with our two kids while my wife went to ask for a table. She asked if there was outside seating available since we saw tables outside to the right of the restaurant. When she asked, there was either a supervisor or manager with a white and blue blouse (she had blonde dreads but didn't see her name if she had a name tag on) who looked at my wife and rolled her eyes at her for asking that question. The other host just looked at my wife and looked bothered for simply asking that question, then said no. They told us it would be a 15–20-minute wait, which we were okay with since it was already busy. My wife gave her my name which I clearly heard her say Mario. Not even three minutes later, they kept yelling "Maria”, so we didn't think anything of it since her name or my name isn't Maria. After yelling it about another 3 times, the host looked directly at me as if she was annoyed and yelled "Maria!" I told her, “Don’t you mean Mario?" and she rolled her eyes at me, then proceeded to laugh with the other hosts that were standing there along with the lady in blonde dreads. This was our third, and most likely our last time there. The food and server, Melanie, were not the issue. Melanie was very nice and kept checking up on us every time she walked by. The host and manager/supervisor that kept walking and making rounds are the reason people stop going to establishments like this. That is no way to treat any customer, let alone be the face of your restaurant especially on a day like Mother's Day. We were going to leave as soon as she started with her attitude issues, but our kids were hungry, so we just stayed and ate. I think the only thing that made the experience better was our...
Read moreNot naming names as I don't want anyone to get fired. We travel the country and are beginning to review restaurants we encounter, more than we used to. There's a lot here, so let's break it down...
Waitress was anything but. Saw her maybe twice the entire visit. Had to ask host for her twice.... and that was just to PAY.
I want to talk more about how horrible the service was, but we'll let that go. I ordered a 12oz steak. I was able to count how many bites of ACTUAL steak... three. There rest was complete fat. It was embarrassing to receive a steak so fatty, I can't imagine how the cook felt. No wonder the waitress didn't ask how everything was.
Temperature of food was perfect and my steak was cooked precisely how I like it (when it's not 90% fat content). Partner had chicken and he thought that was just okay. "Kind of bland" as he stated, "but not terrible."
Drinks from the bar took forever, but seeing that there was a bartender physically at the bar, it was obviously the waitress that dropped the ball on the bar drinks.
We're not picky. We're actually the easiest people to serve as I've been a server for over 16 years and understand how trying it can be (especially during Covid-times) This was inexcusable. This has turned me off to the entire Outback chain, so much so, that we'll never step foot in one again.... or at least until we forget how bad this was.
I still can't believe how inaccessible our...
