Oh my goodness, this is the best place to have breakfast. The prices are more than fair. If anything, they're too low. The food was off the chain grade. I actually was able to substitute my hash browns for cheese grits and they were just totally delicious. And again the service was incredibly friendly. We had a party of five. They went out of their way to make more room for us so we could all sit at the same place and have enough room for all the many plates that come to you when you order food here. If you're in the area on a weekday and it's breakfast time, you need to stop in here.

Stopped for breakfast on a Monday. Good value for good food and service! We found it a little odd/different that the omelettes come with biscuit and gravy but not another side option (other than plain toast). The Sweet Tooth was great - 2 eggs, bacon or sausage and 2 huge pancakes for $8.50. Waitress asked if I wanted regular or sugar free syrup, which I appreciate. Lots of locals here so you know it must be popular in the town. We would return again.

When can I go back is my general thought about this place. Not the weekends I'll tell ya. Pricing is great for the portions. And for the food itself: super delicious. The options are not what you'd expect at a local diner, this place offers so many more! I got a hamburger on Texas toast, smothered with mashed potatoes and gravy. Definitely a repeat.

We enjoyed this spot, even before it was AJ's Diner. My husband and I chose to have lunch here recently. It was busy as usual but we were promptly seated. We each had the special which was fried chicken. The dark chicken was a complete leg quarter; not pieces. The white chicken was a boneless chicken breast. We prefer bone-in chicken when having fried chicken. It was good but seemed small. We noticed the salads are small as well served in a small sauce bowl_ Also we orderd fried cabbage; it was a small portion alike. We were a little disappointed because we were accustomed to the large sides from the former visits under another name. We may think about trying another diner next time to see if the portions are more generous. Food was decent; just not enough. Service was very nice...

The book is so much better than the cover.

I drove past this place twice thinking it was a used car lot.

It has the classic old time look. The decor is old yet clean. Furniture shows its wear. What AJs lacks in decor it more than makes up on food, service, prices and personality.

A couple of people needed to wait. Casual comment " busy as usual" This is a place where the locals go for breakfast. So many knew each other. And the waitresses knew everyone. Service was fast, friendly, and responsive.

The food was excellent. Not fast food sugary stuff. I had the pancake breakfast - 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 French toast. $7

My wife had the Philly Cheese steak omelet ( ? ). It was excellent. Large with lots of meat and cheese. $10

I wanted to like this place based just upon the friendly greeting that me and my Mom got as we walked in. Sadly, my entire breakfast was just covered in grease from the griddle. Absolutely everything was greasy, my eggs (which may have been my fault cause I ordered the scrambled hard) the potatoes and especially the city ham were covered in grease. I tried to blot the grease from the ham but it turned out to be overly salty - there was no way to get the grease off either the potatoes or the eggs so I left hungry.

Interestingly, my mom ordered a single egg, over easy and a single slice of bacon and hers was not that greasy. She ate hers, I was asked if I wanted to take mine to go.,. The answer was a...
