Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Crystal Lake

We came here to eat lunch on Sunday. Our waiter was kind and very attentive which we appreciate. My husband and I got the chicken strips. They were very dry and tough. The broccoli was also very dry. The chips tasted chalky. Overall very disappointed in the food. BUT EVEN WORSE… I sat at the table with my toddler while my husband took 3 small children to the bathroom. One bathroom is under construction so they have it closed off. The other bathroom has several stalls with gaps in the walls and no locks and the bathroom is unisex. So my husband walked in and there were several women in there. He left our 3 small kids in there to use the bathroom while he stood in the hall because he didn’t want to enter with the other women. I understand they need to do construction at times, but they should definitely have a better system like locks on the door to keep everyone safe. I would have generally had no issue sending a young teen to the bathroom alone here and might have never known the bathroom was open to men and women. There is a sign on the outside of the door that says unisex but until you enter you don’t realize there are other stalls and who else could be in the bathroom.

I feel like they could do construction over night or even close a day or two to complete this. Money is definitely more important than safety at this location.

When I talked to the manager she said it’s set up so people take turns. But I’m not sure how that could happen unless you look thru the gaps to see if it’s a man or woman in there. There is no regulation to take turns. Nothing was being regulated.

I would avoid this location as their decision making skills show that money is more important...

Wont be returning here I think ever, this was the last time I pay to sit down at a dump like chilli's. There's so many better options in every aspect of being a restaurant there's honestly no debate. Medicore food, bad service, below average environment, why waste you hard earned money here.Bartender hated me and my girlfriend for coming in a hour and a half before close. Horrible vibe, mean mugging us, took our ids in the back for 5 min claiming the manager needs to see them if your under 30, sketchy and weird, but made worse when I get my check to pay and I'm given a marker where the opposite end is a tip with invisible ink. I don't have to explain why that is worrisome and unacceptable. Spoke to a manger she did nothing and was no help, just shrugged. Absolute joke, I knew I shouldn't waste my money at a chilis and never will again. Was only there because I saw a late movie on opening night and most other places...

I called for a carry-out order and asked the employee on the phone if we could use Plenti reward points to pay. She informed me that yes I could use Plenti rewards points but only for carry-out, not for dining in. I placed an order and when we arrived we learned that they had lost it. The employee apologized and put in a rush order for our food. After a few minutes we asked if we could pay to speed things up and told them we'd be using our points. The employee said they do not take them. We asked to speak to the manager, who refused to even apologize or admit that her employee had made a mistake on the phone. After presenting her with my call log (time and phone number) she just said hmm, and again refused to apologize. That combined with our last visit (when they'd lost their liquor license for serving underage kids) is enough to make me never come back. Avoid this...
