T.J. Maxx — Local services in Crystal Lake

The staff had approved my card, then as I went shopping I gathered more items because of the approval. I spent over 2 hours there. At checkout, they told me I was over limit. I started putting items back as the cashier struggled to figure out the issue. The other worker Ashley (I believe) came over and walked away without showing direction 3 times. I was in line for over 20 minutes and Karen the worker did not care for my needs at all. All she did was tell me to sign a piece of paper. As she called customer service she had said "its whatever" to me and tried to get me to pay for the items another way. My birthday is next week and one of the workers said "looks like your gonna be here for your birthday" laughing as I waited that long for the problem to be resolved. The staff here is generally very rude and I will not be shopping here again. The environment was extremely unfriendly, with one of the workers telling me that a perfum was "out of my price range" when I had not given her one. GO TO ANY...

Visited the store in Crystal lake Illinois while traveling. When I got home I looked at my receipt and realized that I had been charged for the same item twice. I called the store and asked if they could look up my debit card transaction on their computer in which they said they could but asked why and when I told them why they said they could not refund the overcharge unless I came back to the store that's over 8 hours away from where I live. There is not another store close to me. Poor customer service because I know they could have refunded my card the overcharge of $19.99 plus tax to my card without me coming there. Lesson learned- don't shop at this store because they will not correct...

I do suppose I am slightly biased because I have worked for the TJX company for about 3 years between both the Algonquin TJ Maxx, and the Crystal Lake Marshalls. But I am definitely also the type of person that is perfectly find with a hunt for something cool. So previous employment to side I still very much like to shop at these places, they actually have decent prices especially considering what most of the average stores are going to actually charge up front until they move items to a...
