Update: Still crazy about Georgios Pizza after all these years. From my original post (below), we continue to enjoy their pizza, both deep dish and thin crust as well as their salads, sandwiches, pasta, and of course desserts!
If you’re having trouble deciding on a menu item, just ask your server for a recommendation. They are happy to provide a suggestion from their experience. Some of my favorites are the addition of drizzling balsamic glaze on a pizza, ordering the Italian beef sandwich on garlic bread, or adding spinach and mushrooms to the macaroni and cheese. And if you order a side of ranch dressing to dip your fries in, you won’t be disappointed!
Customer service at Georgios can’t be beat. If we ever experience a problem with service, food, drinks, etc., they will do MORE than necessary to resolve any issue.
Posting photos below of some of their delicious food. Are you hungry yet? Go there today! Georgios Pizza has always been our go-to spot. We began going there shortly after they opened, searching for a tasty deep dish pizza (as there was nothing else in the area that fit the bill).
One taste of their authentic deep dish had us hooked and we have been patronizing their establishment ever since. Not only is the deep dish pizza delicious, but their thin crust is equally tasty as well. If you, instead, prefer a calzone, they are made to order and are generous in size.
In addition to their pizzas, we have tried many other menu items and have not been disappointed. If you begin with any of their appetizers, each one is sure to please. The cast-iron grilled hamburger is one of the most tastiest burgers I've ever had. Their Italian beef rivals Portillos, especially if you order it on crusty garlic bread. The accompanying french fries are the bomb! All of their salads are fresh and crisp and are perfectly paired with a flavorful dressing. The antipasto salad is particularly yummy if you add Italian sausage. For those in the mood for pasta, Georgios has you covered for that too. Each is a generous portion and a delight to the senses. If you save room for dessert after your meal, you will be delighted by any of Georgios options, our favorite being the Mount St. Georgio, a large freshly baked chocolate chip cookie, topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and a cherry on top. The made-from-scratch cheesecake and carrot cake are popular as well and both are extremely large portions.
The service at Georgios is outstanding. From the hostesses that greet you, to the bartenders pouring your drinks, the servers who wait on you, or the managers running the restaurant, each one has been helpful, friendly, and courteous. If there is ever a problem, the staff will go above and beyond to make things right. Their customer service is excellent and they will do everything to keep their customers coming back.
This is a well-run establishment, a family- friendly place, and a company that gives back to the community. It's definitely worth...
Read moreBeen to Crystal Lake Georgio’s many times. Usually good. The last 3 times not so good. 6 of us with 2 $20. gift cards, confused the waitress. Using 3 credit cards she split 3 ways on 2 card and charged the 3 card with the full price of the 6 of us. I missed it because heI wasn’t involved in figuring out the bill, went to the restroom came back and just signed. I Had to go in person the next day to get it straightened out.
A few weeks ago we had 10, they wouldn’t take reservations. Called before we showed up. This made things tuff for the restaurant to make room for us but the waitress worked it out and really took care of us. Thank you!
Last night, Saturday, planning dinner then a concert at 8:00. Called at 3:00 to let the restaurant know we’re planning to come at 6:00 with 14 people. No reservation could be taken. Call just before you come, we were told. Called 20 minutes ahead and were told we would be put on a wait list, at least 45 minutes. Get to the restaurant and told at least 45 minutes more. I asked does the restaurant not want big groups? They said it’s ok but can’t do reservations. Why? It’s company policy. We waited over an hour. The waitress did well and we always take care of our waitress. More than 20%. Georgio’s is convenient and the food is ok but no reservation and not being receptive to groups of people is where I feel...
Read moreOur order was promptly taken and we were told that our pizza could take up to 45 minutes. "Okay," we said. Then our drinks took 20 minutes before arriving with an apology that they were on the house because they took so long. After an hour - it was already getting empty and it was only 7 pm - we asked about the pizza. "Sorry it's taking so long," we were told. Later, I asked at the bar why it was taking 1-1/2 hrs for a pizza. No explanation was given. In time, someone came to our table to explain that she looked at the order and we had only been waiting 1 hour and 23 minutes. (My bad!) At 1 hour and 50 minutes, someone else explained that they had not yet put our order in, that we could wait another 45 minutes, or take a different type of pizza that they had made for someone else who had left. Hungry, we said yes to the other pizza. We waited yet another 10 minutes. (2 hours total.) No pizza. No explanation. We left. What's wrong with Georgio's? Who knows? We know this for a fact though: you do not want go to Georgio's in...
